Traits (Quirks?) for Generations

What trait runs in your family for generations that, no matter how much education or effort, cant seem to be changed or improved?
For me, its penmanship. My brother and son have the same terrible unreadable penmanship that my father had, and we have logs from Newfoundland ships of our ancestors with the exact scratchy thin writing that no one can read. Then add my mothers too-loopy writing and no one can win. And believe me we tried. I wanted that fountain pen in first grade that you received for good penmanship and I had to overcome the curls and loops(I didn't get the long thin scratchy penmanship side)
