Sick Baby

sweet cheeks so hot with fever
lashes rest
but you are not sleeping
caught in a fever dream
we each take a bed site
Father keeps the cool cloth turned
and I am reading
you might be sleeping
but I am reading for you
so you hear me first
when you wake
