Secret Wish

do you have a secret life
staring off into space
a new, hidden vague look on your face
fear strikes me down
you are gone
closed

do you have a secret wish
to be gone
and done with all of this
are you off already in your head
making plans

I'm shivering

I fear you've found another soul
whos patience has not grown thin
someone to turn to in your middle life
who will take you on

have you had a secret desire
all this time
to be let go, to wander
and you never let me know....

I think most of us experience these feelings at some point in our life. Gripping fear - the thought of losing someone dear to our heart. Great writing, Veronica. Lainie
