Saying His Goodbye

polished floors shine in sunlight lace curtains in the summer breeze cut grass scent out the window husband bare chested on the hill He looks away, over the meadow saying his goodbye Wife stands at the table, touching just with finger tips idly thinking where they bought it cups of tea boxes of life around the room He looks away over the meadow saying his goodbye For a moment, she is in pain a split second of recognition of his sacrifice then she closes her heart and watches her husband looking way over the meadow saying his goodbye
