Sharon Gulley has been a professional truck driver and heavy equipment operator since 2005. A commercial blue crabber and roofer for many years before getting her CDL's. She is a native of Rhode Island and daughter of a Navy Veteran who spent 30 years in service. She loved writing from a young age and attribute it to traveling with her parents all the time from state to state during her Father's service years. She would tell stories to her two siblings while over the road with their parents to entertain themselves on long drives across the country. She joined Poetrysoup.com in 2014 and still writes there today. She accredits poetrysoup.com for encouraging her to learn, share and grow as an author. "There is so much encouragement on Poetrysoup.com and never a shortage of wonderful encouraging authors from all over the world there to support your growth with kindness.' She became serious about becoming a published author at the age of 48 and published her first poetry book in 2015 with Xlibris Publishing. She later went on to co-author in three Anthologies with Teresa Hawley Howard at Women On A Mission Enterprises who is an advocate for and on Domestic Violence. The anthologies are From Fear To Freedom out in September 2016, Echo's In The Darkness also out in November 2016, where she shares her own stories of troubled times and overcoming against all odds. She is also in Sisterhood of Stories out in December 2016 as well. She is now working on two ghost stories and three children's books for 2017 and an addition to her first publication with even more poetry added. She loves travel and works as a creative artist, photographer and self-publisher. She has worked publishing with Teresa Hawley Howard in 2016. "Growing up on a farm and having the sea near us as well helped to peak my imagination as a child." Her favorite Authors are Robert Frost, James Agee, T'S. Elliot, Ann Rice, Emily Dickerson, Mark Twain and Steven King. She is now studying Metaphysical healing, Spiritual healing, Life Coach and Public Speaker on Domestic Violence, Drug abuse, Children's Cancer, and Alzheimer's and Dementia. She is a Cancer Survivor and she works from home while caring for her aging mother. At 51 she has a long to do list that, she says, keeps her young at heart.
