This Drinking Thing
Tonight I walked into the bar,
and seen you pull her in close as I
watch from afar.
I seen that her eyes and smile had
erased me as I slowly faded into the
dark.
I had to come, I had to see what
meant more than me, what held your
heart.
This shining but now lonely ring has me
hanging on to this drinking thing.
One hard swallow and all will go away.
Just wish you could have been the one
that had no need to, this heart play.
