Little Creature of Endurance and Grace

Tiny, little creature I hold in my hand
you mean the world to me for you have
shown me that there is still hope for man.

Each little chirp you make and each tiny
movement you take while working on this
land, shares with me the message that life
from us, also demands.

You've shown me how to love and how to
be at peace, to let go of struggle and except
sweet release. Let go of pain, let go of grief.

You give sweet gestures to hold onto faith
and let not my heart ever be a closed gate.

Endurance is your pace, coupled with sweet
grace and how could I not love your sweet little
face.

You have given me more hope than I could ever
ask for and for you and this planet, I find myself
longing to do so much more.
