Premium MemberThe Children of Gaza

The children of Gaza have learned to hide
and hold their ears until bombings subside
Their dreams are colored now by mottled red
And a place in soft dirt has become bed

Their hands reach high for even some bread mold
Instead, little hands need toys they can hold
frightening nights as stars have ceased to shine
For long ago, happy days children pine

Children suffer among the most, it seems
For years, noise of war creeps into their dreams
They live midst hate and fear everyday.
Lose family, best friends who used to play

How can they possibly think through this fear
bombs whining as they fall, is what they hear
Sadness meets them at each corner they turn
To not hate is the lesson they must learn

Warm bath, soft bed those children sorely need
and we Earthlings must plant different seed
we need to insure a sweet dream each night,
and a world where children live without fright.

Binged out

Every binge keeps getting longer
The emptiness growing stronger & stronger
Her only wish is that you never wrong her
Fighting to hold on to a dream
we never could've imagined was real
Grasping onto the only thing
that ever made us really feel
Knowing this was truely the real deal
....Confused...
hating & loving our past
Wishing with everything we have
that what we created together will last
Playing tug of war with the ecstasy & pain
knowing deep down forgiveness is
the only chance to gain
N still refusing to just let our past mistakes go
Destroying what we searched for for so long...
our only real home
Js the thought of being alone
Rips & tears at our already damaged souls

Haunted by the Mind

In the war of feelings,
in the war of hate.
War of healing,
and every decision I make.

I ask myself every time
to be alright: is this what's right?

But what's right?
What's real?
Every hallucination I fear?

What do they want?
Where do they go?
Do I make them?
Feed them?
Haunt them, until they go?

Or am I the prey,
that's haunted by the mind?

If that's the case:
Dear me,
would you please
be alright?

Premium MemberSeptember Winds - SS

September winds carry the echoes of ancient songs,
When air was sweet with the scent of earth
And we placed our wishes upon the willow's roots,
Weeping then as echoes drowned in the noise of throngs,
When cares of life displaced the child’s mirth
And left us crushed by war's tough boots.

Premium Memberbut to ask

must a man lose everything
to divine those truths inside -
must he bare his marrow else
deny what flesh should hide -
and will he open up his veins
         thus through his blood, abide:
       there is a thrumming stronger
than what beats in his breast?

must a kingdom wage a war
to stand and prove its might -
pave its streets in solid gold
and show its doctrine’s right -
oh must it build its parapets
 in stone, to grandest heights
   to know without one question
       there’s a paradise that waits?

must a god be sacrosanct
    through all that he applies
faultless in his form or law
         while innocence thus cries
must he let his redress act
         midst truth as passion dies
or is that err of humankind
how love so finds its breath?

for love is yet the only force
       that triumphs over …

death.

TENDER VICTIMS

TENDER VICTIMS (Children of Gaza Contest)

Dust-covered children,
With tear-streaked faces
And bloodshot eyes.

Orphaned. Abandoned.
Offered no respite--
Empty promises and lies.

Barefoot in rubble,
Tiny hands reaching,
Covered in flies.

Surrounded by debris,
Shattered homes,
With none to hear their cries.

The six o’clock news
Tells their story--
And gets one or two sighs.

the healing wheel

for Darkside Of Aquarius Poetry Contest-Sponsored by: Robert James Liguori
----------------------------------------------------------------
darkness rides out of brimstones flames,
upon wild horses numbering four,
bringing forth the horrors of their war,
the golden path all theirs to exploit and claim.

the promises rode in chariots of fears,
as the archer shot his arrows of ills and pain,
so man cried with a flood of acid tears,
burning his lost soul-strangled in a binding chain.

poison rained down on the angel's land,
as man's sins grow from embryos,
the dragon breathes his lustful demand,
from his mountain top-high plateau.

from the east-a cooling wind will blow,
and a lotus will grow out of the burning sands,
thus starting a change inside the embryo,
casting all from the darkness covering the angels' lands.

the dragon's breath will hold no fear,
when you open the recesses of your mind,
the wizard becomes the inner seer,
as you listen to the silence-and the kind.

darkness strength weakens as it heals,
when you turn the ancient-wheels.

No Surrender

I was raised to kill, no blink, no pause
Your face was the bounty, my finger the cause
Ain’t no enemies whisper, they don’t feel the night
I tasted your name, lost grip on the fight

We met in the smoke where the shadows slide
Gun in my hand, but my heart stayed wide
You smirked like “do it,” I said “hold up,”
Steel in my grip… I flipped it, whatsup

Love sat where death shoulda been
Your silence spoke loud, my war unseen
Hands held fire, lips made truce
Every kiss a crack, every touch a noose

Then thunder came, your squad, my kin,
I caught your eyes and prayed again.
You aimed at my chest, I didn’t move an inch…
Shot through my heart… straight into your ribs

Premium MemberThe Perfume Bottle

Words echoed that should never have been spoken.
Fiery accusations leaving hearts broken.
Twirled anger erupted, stabbing as if by a sword.
Vile innuendo from both of them, poured.
Shattered crystal, the statue she threw.
He barely recognised her, behaving like a shrew.
He glared in disbelief at the ugly scene.
Gone now, the adored devotion that once had been.
All culminating in a crescendo of bitter screams.
Her heart pounding, she envisaged her forlorn dreams.
The mirror depicts a virtual war zone.
His departure left her fragile and all alone.
She kicked the crumpled dress, realised her leg was sore.
The smashed perfume bottle still spilling across the floor.

Rachamim

Rachamim
 (Compassion Of Mercy)
 Why do nations rage?
 Always at war in vain.
 The wicked will never stop.
They love violence and it’s wrong.
Under the sun, always at war.
 No care for another soul.
 What life is this?
No victory in the blood of violence.
It is in our nature to destroy ourselves.
Leaders care for no one else.
 The fall of mankind.
Burn down all the land from the inside.
 Very few people are left.
Hope Jesus remembers me in the end.
I want no part of this dark world.
 Always another war.
Have compassion for those who still believe.
 Through mercy, forgive me.
Time is like Sodom and Gomorrah.
One day it will be all over.
Judgment will be worse than before.
 Not water but fire.
Raise up into the colorful sky.
All the cities will be burning bright.

Soldier

Soldier
They march as one as a unit
 With discipline they stand lucid
 Into battle, they are ready
On a narrow path feel their furry
 As bullets fly by
In combat they are brave in the sky
With courage in green, they protect
 For we will never forget
 War is upon us all
All four branches in the military stand tall
In the desert there is difficulty
On the front lines it is bloody
With honor they protect with their lives
Silver in hand is sharp like a knife
For they are so far away from home
We acknowledge the sacrifices you made, you are not alone
Camouflage painted in green and black
We thank our soldiers for coming back
While the plains fly high in the sky
Our military troops fight, we will never say goodby
 A lonely road is unforgiven
As Americans, we will lift your burdens
In closing I write this letter for you
In testimony I can’t thank you enough for what you do
 Our enemies drew first blood
With Amo and guns, we’ve all had enough
To all those who have fallen hard
We give back with honor a purple heart.
It has been a long journey under the sun
Lay down the violence for it is done

Ruining of Society

Ruining Of Society
 Earthquakes are everywhere.
No one can be found here and there.
 A lawless society.
 With no authority.
 Vandalizing someone's property.
No care but to destroy the environment anyway.
 An era of decay.
 The world is going insane.
 Mankind above the law.
 Just like Babylon.
 The sins of the earth.
Burn down the flesh, remain in the dirt.
 A corrupt government.
 Everyone can see it.
 Many will suffer.
 The world is going under.
 Every man for himself.
 No food on the shelf.
 Centuries burning, what a shame.
 Nothing will ever change.
A holy war no one can see.
Stand by the cross, it’s all that I need
war

The Oppressed

The Oppressed
Stand against the high and mighty.
As a unit, stand and fight.
 Their homes will burn.
 Give them what they deserve.
 Our back door is flooded.
 Chaos, unrest.
 Take the power back.
 Raise your fist up high.
 They're all puppets on strings.
With a bullet, feel the sting.
 Corrupted selfish bastards.
 This can’t last forever.
Our nation is taxed to death.
 Send them to their death.
 This country deserves better.
 The streets are on fire.
 Feed the machine.
 The oppressed are not free.
Tear down the walls of reason.
Fight for what you believe in.
 This is our civil war.
They are above us no more.
 They're all full of greed.
Shoot them down and watch them bleed.

Vendetta

Vendetta
Weall know what the word vendetta means.
 I am writing this blindly.
 Take revenge with your fist.
Through redemption you're on the list.
One of our own has fallen.
Take up a sword and let the skies burn red.
Ignite the fire from the gun smoke.
I will put dirt on your grave with a shovel.
Stand as one against our enemies.
Slash the skin and watch you bleed.
 Dance around the fire.
Wedrink into the night, I am a survivor.
Another civil war is on the horizon.
You better run, you know my reputation.
Brothers stand on the front line.
 Protect our own, we fight.
Our an-sisters fight along with us.
 Through victory we are just.
 Weare outlaws with no remorse.
This is my journey moving forward.
Take back what belongs to us
Soon you will be a foot stool for my feet.
 The rage carries on.
As a warrior, this is where I belong
On the front lines to protect
war

343

343
A tragic event 24 years ago.
A picture can say 1,000 words.
In memory of those we lost.
Time has passed, we have not forgotten.
 How could this happen?
 Survive and move on.
 343 and the brave.
 In honor till this day.
 A hijack in the sky.
 Two planes crash in sight.
This will change our lives forever.
So many worked in the Twin Towers.
I just wanted to say thank you.
For our firefighters that day at our Nation Capital.
New York is home for many.
Stand with us while the terrorist bleeds.
 Stand strong into tomorrow.
Honor them in a memorial. (2006)
 Never forget that morning.
Unite this country in new beginnings.
 Raise up our colors.
Red, white and blue for our brothers.
