Premium MemberWith a Gentle Hand - Mystic

In my town, a sight I pass every day is Ugly the cat.
One eyed UGLY, is strange and most tell him to scat.
Fights have caused a limp and he has just one ear.
He’s a sorrowful looking mess that many people fear.

Some feed him, and I have given him milk to drink.
I doubt anyone has gotten close, sure to be a stink
He’s not the type of cat you’d love or want to own
Poor old Ugly seemed happy to be all alone.

A newcomer to the area took a dislike to the cat
Poured water over it, so it moved from where it sat
It was Winter and the bitter cold he just couldn't stand
The cat was near death, I picked him up with a gentle hand

That sweet cat nestled into my coat and gently purred
That was a sound that from Ugly no-one had heard
I looked down at his unfortunate face, and shed a tear
Don’t worry mate I softly said, I will stay with you here

He looked back and gave a soft meow and slipped away.
I missed him, but "glad he is gone" some would say.
A feeling of regret that I didn't do more, I had inside.
Hung a plaque on the wall. This is where Ugly did reside.

Premium MemberGirls Night Out

Girls Night Out

Just to get away from the pressures of the day
Being able to cry, and vent
our problems away
Talking about things that's only understood by each other
Every talk we have takes the friendship a little further
We can always be ourselves because we know each other well
We relate our deepest secrets because neither of us will tell
Music moments are the best because we share the same song
Finding solutions to each problem as we help each other along
When it comes to eating out or going shopping we never go dutch
If one is broke the other pays to show we love each other that much
Through thick and thin, broke and paid or when we have enough
We always cherish these moments especially when the times get tough

Premium MemberHUMILITY FOUND

HUMILITY FOUND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When ego's fragile form begins to fade,
     a limitless expanse of soul appears.
The boundaries that once bound and confined,
     now stretch, expand, transform, and astound.
In losing the ego self, another universe is found,
     a world of wonder, limitless, and esoteric.
The chains of comparison are severed;
   they no longer bind, no longer suffocate either you or me.
The prison of competition is left behind,
     unfettered, enlightenment grows.
In this vast and open place, humility also grows, and
     a web of love and Divine interconnectedness prevail.
Silence
Why is the silence
Like a deafening roar
I still cringe when someone
Knocks on our door
I wait for your chorus
Your lion like bark
But the silence is blinding
Like a nuke in the dark
I wake up to barking
And half asleep
I automatically go
Check outside for a creep
I wake in the night
And sneak out of bed
So I don't disturb you
Then I remember your dead
Why would the world
Steal you like that
I couldn't tell you I loved you
And send you off with a pat
The world didn't deserve
An angel like you
And wherever you are
I'll always love you my boo
Premium MemberLoneliness
I can't imagine
my life alone.
Without having someone
I can call my own.
Curled up in my bed
with no one there.
No one to hold me
and tell me they care.
Wake in the morning
tears on my cheeks.
Realize I'm not dreaming
and pull up the sheets.
Sit at my table
conversing with air.
Knowing and hating
that no one is there.
Heart slowly breaking
I crawl back into bed.
If this is my life now,
I'd rather be dead.
Again and again,
the cycle repeats.
No one to hold me,
and share our heartbeats.
A life slowly fading,
to a featureless blur.
A love to be given
if someone was there.
Premium MemberCacti
I locked my memories and dreams
No one but me is bound to know
Where have I hidden our trees
The green of grass and white of snow
The roses, the forget-me-nots
The pansies and the olive tree
And every flower in your pots
You pictured for the memory
The cacti stars in white and pink
They wonder why they came around
I’m pretty sure they can think
Especially when the sun goes down
And we are there, inside the walls
The cacti whispers in the night
Watching our shadows in the hall
Move in the rectangle of light.
Premium MemberAll That I Have to Give
When I look back,
I see loneliness and an unfeeling heart.
Then I fell in love,
that's when my life truly starts.
I didn't think it was possible
to love someone so much
that you would almost die
just to feel her touch.
I can't imagine what would happen
or how I would survive
if you took your love away;
I could not keep my heart alive.
I can't explain the happiness
or joy that I have found
now that you've come into my life,
my world is safe and sound.
I wish I could give back to you
all that you've given me,
but the only thing I have to give
is to my heart...the key.
Gossamer, Gone
O gossamer, thy needles.
They shine like suns at play.
Bands of fate in full? She pulls!
Faster grow, O hay!
Erosion, art thou harbinger?
Kingdom gone? Returned?
Battlefield, thy prey! O cur!
How my heart has burned!
Tremendous time, thy measure.
Each minute to work out.
Poisoner, thy pleasure!
Dismay, decay, doubt!
Fine flickering in free fall?
Plight of a far-flung hope?
Funeral, thy darkest pall!
Invincible rope!
Creek trickling down the cliff?
Cold the water gets.
Faster, peasant! Pole that skiff!
He who shirks regrets!
Thistle in an empty field?
Spartan on the shield.
Wound in side that never healed.
Heart-blood a-congealed.
O xylophone, thy plaintive note.
Balloons love to float.
O ye travelers, pack thy tote!
Red the riddle rote...
Love And Let Live
Racism, ageism, sexism, name it!
              If there was tech-ism, we’d have to game it
Why should the pattern of reckless decision
                      Further a hate based on sex or religion
Why not let love and let live be your  “ism”
         Spreading its beauty like light through a prism
Loveism, likeism, careism, make it!
               After a while, you would not have to fake it
What if our would had no isms at all
            Changing the course of our strange little ball
Love and let live and leave others alone
                   Foster the greatest true love ever known
Premium MemberGone But Not Forgotten
Life is often fleeting. You hold it in your hand.
It slips right through your fingers just like so much sand.
And the harder that you grasp it the quicker that it goes
And what it all amounts to no one really knows.
I once saw a picture of a child in the sun.
Laughter there upon the lips, eyes so filled with fun.
I once saw a picture of a mother’s painful tears.
Live your life in moments, don’t worry about the years.
I once heard a story. A lesson to be learned.
Someone set a fire and everything was burned.
And there, beneath the ashes was a diamond wrapped in gold.
Though everything must perish, love will not grow old.
I remember when I knew you as a friend.
And now it all is gone but not forgotten.
Premium Memberflowers in her hair
I used to dream when I was young,
I would remove all of the thorns
of the most beautiful flowers
and place them in her hair,
lovingly,
Innocence is cute, its so divine,
then you grow up not so fine,
that girl you knew as a child,
can't even remember her name,
sadly,
There's a loneliness to every soul,
eating alone in a popular food court,
they may enjoy the meal, cooked well,
but in the end, solitary doesn't taste as good,
and love declines as the demon in you climbs
and now you realize, its a tragic  fairy-tale
and now the large world appears small
and insects on your skin now crawl,
The realization,
it makes you sick,
now, floating past the jetty,
the strands of her hair.....
Remember This
All the things I said to you
Were from the deepest depths inside
Count each and every one as true
From all but you those things I hide
And should it be my life spans long
Your cozy cabin in the wood
Is where I'll wait to hear your song
Until I close my eyes for good
Just Because
Just because I don't post
Doesn't mean I don't write
Just because I don't publish
I still have dreams at night
Just because it's unspoken
Doesn't mean that I don't
Just because you won't say it
Doesn't mean that I won't
Just because I may want to
Doesn't mean that I would
Just because I still love you
Doesn't mean that I should
The things that we want
Sometimes we don't get
Just because we don't see
The plan fully yet
There's no harm in keeping
The flame still alive
In case I do make it
To one hundred and five
Premium MemberDark Princess
My heart,
unable to beat
until I hear the treading,
the treading of your feet.
My Dark Princess,
dark and stunning,
you set my heart free,
down a path and running.
You cause me to smile.
It has been a while, My Love.
Come with me and fly
as though you were a dove.
Your smile is entrancing.
You are my very best friend.
We'll be together forever,
for which there is no end.
Although you are dark...
what I say is right...
You, Dark Princess,
have filled my dark soul with love and light.
Premium MemberThe Perfume Bottle
A perfume bottle I'll never forget
Stays in my heart, where its forever etched
It was my eldest sister's first romance
That Christmas to me was heaven enhanced.
We watched as each present became unwrapped
All us sisters hearts were truly enrapt
Each item had a heavenly perfume
The fragrance simply made our young hearts boom.
I found it the best thing I'd ever seen
Lovely as an enchanting movie scene
First thing I bought with my first pay packet
Beauteous perfume, just had to have it.
Our mom let us spend our first wage, so sweet
After that we had to pay for our keep
I'll never forget that scent, didn't cost much
Was start of a love with a magic touch.
