Premium MemberDark Princess

My heart,
unable to beat
until I hear the treading,
the treading of your feet.

My Dark Princess,
dark and stunning,
you set my heart free,
down a path and running.

You cause me to smile.
It has been a while, My Love.
Come with me and fly
as though you were a dove.

Your smile is entrancing.
You are my very best friend.
We'll be together forever,
for which there is no end.

Although you are dark...
what I say is right...
You, Dark Princess,
have filled my dark soul with love and light.

Premium MemberDear Secret Love

Dear Secret Love,

Love is a many-colored arch
displayed by rays of sun
and best seen in the wake of clouds
just after storms are done.

Love is a rosebud reaching up
to drink its fill of dew
that it might blossom in the warmth
of sun that shines anew.

Love is a midnight symphony.
Its music only heard
in hearts awakened by the song,
as joy inspires the bird.

Love is a sign of hope that shines
for anyone who'll see,
who'll lift his eyes from earth to sky
and dream of what might be.

So if you'll lift your downcast face
and look for signs above,
you'll see a rainbow, kiss the dew
and hear the song of love.

Then, hopefully you'll understand,
I am your rainbow light,
I am the rose that thirsts for you,
I am your love songs in the night.

Meandered

She wished neither to be loved
or adorned
yet wished for the tresures
that Lovers deserve
and those who are adorned
receive as gifts.

He wished for someone
who loved him in
needed him could only disappoint
but being valued as loved
he could be man enough for her

There personalities clashed
and were completely opposite of
one another and often out of sync

Echoes the nights
were the need of
being loved has him
lonley and unwanted
yet she finds reasons
to need things
they sparkle
to shine for others
to admire her

Echoes the Nights
when the things that
posses me
are thetrickets
that give him way to
me
might I suffer
to need her to
love me

He is neither neglected
or has Love faded
we exist to co-mingle
and habitat
Kisses and whispers
might arouse a need in me
that he may belive
to be his vision of Love

Premium MemberShe Knows Me

Yes, she knows me, she’s known me from the start
Soulmates throughout eternity, she knows me in her heart

She knows the words my heart would say
And knows the thoughts I think each day

She sees my smile and knows its cause
And feels my love without a pause

She knows the joy that we feel
When once again we’ve topped a hill

And all the love when we embrace
When we have finished a 5K race

She knows I love her for her mind
Unique, intelligent, the creative kind

I promised a life of love and adventure
But that first kiss of her hand was the heart-melding clincher

Do you think of me
When you see the sun setting
Me, you, together

To The One I Leave Behind

To you, the one I leave behind, I write,
Not clothed in grief, but wrapped in tender song.
Though parting comes, as surely comes the night,
Our souls have known a bond both deep and strong.

No tear can dim the love that once was ours,
Nor silence steal the echoes of your name.
I go where time dissolves like falling stars,
Yet what we shared, no ending can disclaim.

Think not of loss, but of the life we made,
Of laughter sown, of gentle hours we knew.
Though shadows fall, let memory never fade,
But bloom eternal, evergreen and true.

So take this peace, though flesh and breath resign:
My heart will forever walk with the one I left behind.

Rose Moon in Bloom

Written for the prompt Rose Moon 15 - 25 words set by Poets Island via Instagram

Eclipsed hips part, unearthing
a rose moon in bloom,
opal sighs glimmer,
ruby heat spills, sitting
bodies ablaze in molten embrace.

And, so, with the dawn
of a new night, we met
for song and dancing.
Stars are made for wishing...
while suns are dear sources
of life.

Premium MemberMegan's Locker

You were gazing at me as I looked in your direction
You, caught in reverie and a daydream reflection
Both of us wondering if we've made a connection
As you stand with your friends by your locker
As both of us are caught up in this moment
Both wondering if the other one knows it
Both wondering if the other will show it
Having our love listed on the docket

You writing our names on your notebook
In a heart our names, in your mind nuptials took
Me stealing your heart like some kind of crook
As you lean back on your book nook
I saunter over, parting your friends
I fumble for words, my heart beats intense
I manage to muster these words in defense
"You've captivated my heart with just a look!"

Premium MemberNow That I Have Won My Love's Heart

Now That I Have Won My Love's Heart

Now that I have won my love’s heart and trust,
I must prove myself as a worthy choice
And secure the fickle bond between us
When others challenge for her hand and voice.

They utter words to sway her opinion
And whisper sweet nothings into her ear
(To paint me as a loathsome perception),
Ready to move in and steal my treasure.

I do what I think is right and prepare
To do battle to defend my gained spoils.
Her beauty matches any found on Earth,
And I cherish her love throughout these toils.

This is the heart of the matter; do tell,
To know chivalry is alive and well.

Premium MemberBody and Soul

Body and Mind give way to the Heart and Soul.
They let the emotions take over yet remain in control.
Passion and sentiment now replace logic and reason.
Interchanging ever so slightly- as if from season to season.

Feelings flow freely, replacing all thought.
Emotions running wild without fear of being fought.
The Mind sits back and takes no part,
letting all decisions be made by the Heart.

And throughout the Body the Soul can now freely flow.
With the Heart now in control the Body can only follow.
As the Soul controls the actions revealing it's glow.
Every decision now based on "I feel" not "I think" or "I know"

Emotions unchecked by the Mind, the Heart's desires continue to grow,
and with the help of the Soul will continue to do so.
The Heart and Soul move slowly but soon control All.
This is what takes place when, in Love we fall.

Premium MemberFrom the high grove to Portland

The world outside is vast and bright,
Soaring buildings and lakes so grand,
But its high groves fade from sight,
In the moments I just hold your hand

A simple touch, a glance you hold,
Shifting in the air that stops time,
Turning ash and grey to molten gold,
Like lightning singing to you in this rhyme

Do you feel it softly, tingling and kind?
Of perfect peace beyond compare,
Empyrean is what I always find,
In the laughter, we so often share

Your gentle voice, a calming sound,
quiet strength, a steady grace,
My heart's happiness can be found,
When I'm safe within your space

At my judgment in a far-off place,
I'll want for no moment yet to view,
'Cause the only heavens I belong in too
Are the ones, when I'm with you!

Premium MemberListen to the Wind

Stirring the feelings, blessings so gentle, in light
I discover the songs of my dreams, my soul’s belief
Stars fall and memories plead with me at night
Where the last tears I shed for you are such a relief

Listen to the wind as it sings in waves of grace
Mellow notes of bittersweet, swift and praising
Softly, withered threads of a leaf’s quiet embrace
Pouring over my heart, so gentle, delicate, amazing

Stirring the heart, beautiful that finds it truth
Along the streets of yesterday, I once understood
You were just there, like the grass or tree, in our youth
Whispering love softly, singing songs like we should

Listen to the wind murmur its light over my soul
A miracle blowing silence through the notes of peace
Forever risking my heart on the time your love stole
Moments weary with the melody that will never cease

Stirring in my spirit, the joy of September
Listen to the wind, a breathless moan of prayer
Revealing the wonder of hope felt, I remember!

Premium MemberAlone in a Crowd

for braver hearts that dreamt of me
accept my dearest sympathy
taken in a silent rapture
and not wont to admit capture
by my mouth would raise a scandal
but flamed jowls betray my candle
each face, yours alone in a crowd,
and yet your kiss shall make me proud

As new flames are igniting.

Of my old constellations.
