I am Green

I hide beneath oceans deep where mysteries peep.
I dwell amid the brilliant spectrum of rainbow hues
Some slander and call me as ‘green eyed jealousy’
What I do is make this earth cheery to all eyes.

I am the harbinger of burgeoning spring.
I’m everywhere, even on a seemingly barren hill top,
I’m in trees and grass, crowning and carpeting

DAILY GRATITUDE BEING A PART OF HUMANKIND

I am grateful for being one small part of humankind
which in itself is a miracle so sweet…
that it makes me want to do my best
to be kind to every human whom I meet.

WE NEED TO DO A BETTER JOB

May we be blessed to realize…
When humankind is the label we're all assigned….
We need to do a better job 
of moving from the human…to the kind.

HUMANKIND

I love the word humankind because of the message it creates.
There is no prejudice in that word…it does not discriminate.

It affords every human being upon this planet Earth
the same meaning…the same value…the same importance…the same worth.

It means no matter how we try to separate ourselves….
what arbitrary labels we’ve assigned…
we will always be a member of

My son's guitar

To play a guitar is one thing I always yearned 
On a day like any other I finally decided to learn. 
My Son's Guitar is made for a child, small in stature.
I strum the strings, an out of tune melody is what my ears capture.
Last time I tried I quit, knowing the challenge of acquiring

There's No Fuel Like Gruel

Ate peas porridge hot,

Ate peas porridge cold.

It tasted like snot,

It tasted real old.

On Mom's second shot,

It tasted like coal.

"I made a new pot,"

"So, have a hot bowl."

But, fresh gruel or not,

It smelled worse than skunks.

Put head over pot,

Blew peas porridge chunks.

Rise From Ashes

a storm in my chest can’t sleep tonight
I loved too deep, I burned too bright
shadows callin’ my name again
every loss leaves a tiny flame

walked through nights that never end
felt the ache my bones couldn’t mend
tears fall quiet, yet they still sting 
haunted by everything morning brings

i’m the dragon bleeding slow
heart fights hard but moves too

Patience is a Virtue

Tough, but ever hip,
Our Miss Patience said,
"You all never tip,"
"So, patience is dead."

"Here's some more bad news,"
"You all leave a mess."
"Got grease on my shoes,"
"And stains on my dress."

"Then, when my day ends,"
"And finally get home,"
"My family and friends,"
"Can smell me from Gnome!"

"No more free coffee,"
"And no more free swill,"
"No more sweet toffee,"
"Best just pay

Pomp and Circumstance

You sachet round the aisle

Just to seek an earnest romp

You flash your crooked smile

More of your parasitic pomp

A masher and a cad

You ever prey on their desires

Take everything they had

Then put out their friendly fires

You'll laugh your life away

You're quite the jester, yes it's true 

I've just come here today

Saying, the joke my bloke's on

Internet is Down

jingle tingle of the night
wind moving everything in sight
internet down it isn’t right
what do I do? Go fly a kite?

Internet should be fixed by nine they said.
Wasn’t fixed by eleven, when I went to bed
Got up at two am to check, and it was still down.
Any minute said a notice, written by a clown.

Once we were home, the bikes secure

With dreams of battle and gallant deeds,

They all stepped up and mounted steeds.

I always knew you’d be there with your caring and concern.
I always knew you’d have my back when I had nowhere to turn.
I always knew I could count on your support no matter what.
All these things I always knew, but somehow you forgot.
Each day I’ve waited patiently for just one little word,

Five Star Mother

On a little country farm,
Beneath a Mighty Oak.
There, before Five Headstones,
An old Woman in a cloak.

Though dug so long ago,
The Graves were freshly kept.
With Bible in her hand,
On her knees, the Woman wept.

Five Sons fell in Battle,
Three on Land and Two at Sea.
Now every Year, to the Day,
Was there on bended knee.
