You're all invited to my party.
No, not Jack or Jill or Marty.
I'm inviting apple strudels,
pies and tarts, the whole caboodle,
custards, puddings, buttered scones
(with muffins and bagels, I'm not alone),
cookies, croissants, an eclair,
and my lovely baklava, so dear.

I've got the lecture notes ready
I've got the examples
Just blow what I'm telling you to blow
I am responsible for the resurgence of the sales of saxophones
I unlock the doors of my car
By raising my right palm
You saw the crescent
I saw sod all
You need a guitar player
Bass and the whole caboodle
But don't stop there
Get yourself some
Man clarinets
And ear trumpets
In fact
Sack the band and
Just have a sax on stage
And horn away
Nostril reeds and
Ostentatious bellowing
I'll be your mouthpiece
I'll pretend to be from L.A.

A bug who loved to doodle
was floating on a noodle.
He had to get some sunscreen;
the sun was getting brutal.
He could not reach the lotion;
he needed a commotion
to interrupt the pristine,
make waves just like an ocean.
He saw a pretty spider;
he sidled up beside her
to ask if she would help him
because she was a glider.
She glided to a lady
Who was a big fat ‘fraidy.
A-shriekin’ and a-yelpin’,
she made the pool all wavy.
Our bug packed his caboodle,
then hopped out off his noodle.
It seems that he was last seen
astride a golden doodle.
So if you don’t want cancer,
and you’re a take-a-chancer,
a long-haired dog romancer,
doodles may be your answer.

I have marked my place,
I stand now in the
bulging vein of the moment.
No more hunting for meaning
or for anti-meaning,
all socks are white or not.
I am here.
a one-sized loosely fitted mind,
a tick and cross
on an illogical checklist,
acres stacked upon acres
of fifth dimensional
doubt, faith, and gnosis,
a bottomless barrel of chewed-over laughter.
I am all things and nothing,
happy to be
whatever you see
and I will not
gainsay your worst opinions,
but embrace every layer of the onion
even though you cannot perceive
the chameleon gifts
of my all too human superpowers,
or my agreeable acceptance
of your legendary life.
I am rooted in truth
and conspiratorial speculation
finding no fault in either
but still a knowing of what I am,
could have been or was.
I am raised up in my lowliness and glory
no longer there or anywhere
simply this kit and caboodle, this enchilada.
deeply sorry to be so unrepentant
and mostly happy to be sorry,
not a worry
or any flurry of guilt.
Expunged and indelibly revealed
as this ingenuity of self,
here now and gone
all along.

Momofuku
what did you do
took a dried noodle
and made a caboodle
a country in famine
you took time to examine
and created fast food
to feed the whole brood

Dementia has stolen part of her from me
But also, from herself
I cannot complain; she lives a partial life daily
I am thrilled the days the sun is out
When her soul returns
Even if it is but for one brief moment
It is enough for me
Because it has to be enough for her
Much of her has been swirled away in dementia’s cloak
but on warm sunshine filled days
sometimes there is a glimmer
And that is enough
I would rather have a glimmer of her
Than the whole caboodle of anyone else
Our love will last until the last day

Fabulous paintings on rag mats
Gorgeous under the glazing glass
Resembles my granny's noodles
But not are they silly doodles
Vibrant hues of varied patches
Divine hand's magical scratches
The whole caboodle looks graceful
Makes the innocent hearts joyful!

I have a cat that wears no hat;
though her paws do love to bat,
her mice and balls,
all through my hall.
A clever cat,
a feisty cat,
I made her a nice catnip rat;
my hyper-active tabby cat.
A cat with tail all poofed and fluffed;
her claws are never, ever rough;
they’re so sharp and needle-like;
my god, they’re really more like spikes!
All through the night she bounds and plays;
sometimes in a catnip haze.
All day long she’s in a snooze;
fortunately, she doesn’t drink any booze.
I know she’s been on my computer,
looking for a kitty-suitor.
The claw marks on my keyboard tell,
without me hearing her collar bell.
Her favorite website, “Kitten Caboodle”;
actually sells tuna noodles.
I know because my credit card,
had more than thirty orders charged!
A confrontation did ensue;
she wound up with her ego bruised.
Pouting cat took paws that bat,
took out her frustration on catnip rat.
I tell you honestly,
I tell you true;
be grateful she doesn’t
belong to you.

HEAVENLY CATS
cats sizzle with top hats and canes.
ties spinning.
the feline’s tail held extra high.
whiskers whisked clean
with scrub-brush tongue.
black cats outlined in the astrological sky.
white cats often need to be laundered.
calico’s careen from seat to seat.
Persian’s not too sweet.
a precious find in a tree —
taking home the whole
cat and caboodle.
marvelous kitten’s meow,
lighting up a toddler’s eyes.
Mohawk is his name.
a downsize caused Mohawk to roam
but the heart remembers
and searches for his descendants.
curled up on a rug-size lap,
somewhere out there.

She’s a keen lady, well she’s my poodle
One who ‘d roll only in the guestroom,
With quirky manners of caboodle
And whistles proudly , so out of tune:
Once we dashed to her classy stylist
For a new trim fashioned as a mop!
I was quite shocked ; a clownish t w i s t
Yet for dear doggie… that was hip-hop.
Then I saw the bill, how expensive
Made clean locks JUMP in wiry curls--
Feeling a little hypertensive
She clung to me in fondled twirls.
While walking Bubs 'round the parkland
My legs and thin purse hurt badly…
Aghast, she romped as if on demand
With unkempt canines, prancing MADLY!

Have you ever seen a kangaroo
Who's a little bit off his noodle
He hops around like a crazy galoot
Who's lost his kit and caboodle
He sometimes barks like a doggy
And chases cars and trucks
At times he meows like a kitty cat
Or sometimes quacks like a duck
Once got amorous with a moo cow
Outcome could've been disastrous
Luckily came to his senses in time
Almost had our first kangacowerous
They're treating him for psychosis
It's costing him a bunch of dough
Maybe he'll act like a kangaroo again
For his sake, we sure hope that's so
There's a moral here, it's very simple
It's about knowing who you are
Being happy with the skin you're in
And not coveting another's star!
