The white man
In Algarve, I met the world's tallest poet
blessedly free of athletic prowess and
dressed for a warmer clime, perhaps Swiss
or some other country nearby
Alas, he suffered from high education and
tended to overlook people, which, in his
case was understandable, but he had
a great sense of irony
He spoke French to my wife, who came
into my study to tell me she looked like
Sophia Loren, who am I to disagree with
a woman who speaks seven languages
The tall poet and I went to the beach
I noticed he was white as unchurned milk
people looked like he came from Mars
whitest human they had ever seen.
One day, he disappeared, going back to
Swiss where people tend to wear solid
shoes, but I remember he recited a few
poems, full of wonderous thoughts.

I sense a kinship
(why the Wild Flowers grow)
how wildly they grow
freely they grow
unkempt fields
Spring's showery quench
seeming no care of pruning --
Sun the selfless charge of Nature's light
grooming
In season's dusk, green leaves
dutifully giving way for
skeletal presence of leafless
far more somber trees
such ordained passing~ all for renewing,
for ultimate re-blooming --
a toning reminder
as I freckle, yawn and creak --
my perennial soul, like that of the Wild Flowers
is faithfully, blessedly attended
under God's eternal, loving keep --

The window opened I welcomed in
Skirt someone's trying to predetermine
Blessedly blessed new day we will press
Onto our intended recipient purpose
To walk in the blessings of my blessedness emergent

I am beautiful
Because I am seen
Because you look beyond my eyes
Because you read between my lies
You breathe my breath
You know my width and depth
From me it is good you expect
I am beautiful
Because you forgive me
Because you see beyond my scars
Because you cry my tears
You are faithful through all the years
You put my sins far far away
You listen to my heart when I pray
I am beautiful
Because you Love me.
Because I’m Loved I’m no longer blind
When I look beyond another’s pain
I feel my inner turmoil wane
I see too
How beautiful they are
Blessedly I see through my new eyes
Kinder, softer, otherworldly wise.

Light and dark are only
contrasts for those overly
pinned to eyes – like a
donkey tail, stuck at the thighs,
a backside its entire existence
Sun may daily rise though
a cold heart would never know
warmth of new dimension
each dawn blessedly unfolds –
let us not
confound evil with darkness
Godliness restricted not to light --
at our human best we are elements
dim and bright,
as much our stars
let us shine the great void
between…meet your other halfway
fear and lack of empathy
man’s glaring unclean --

Forgiveness
By Michelle Morris
17/07/2020
Forgiveness is a powerful healer -
It can set everyone free;
It blesses every life it touches,
And can bring God's grace closer,
Blessedly...
So forgive yourself;
Forgive others too;
Let forgiveness create healing,
Always -
For me and for you...

Dawn crests the peaks of barren refuse, enthralling masses and demanding rations of passion from muck
Stuck into walls, hanging out halfway, suspended by calls of anguish and hate
-
Little does it matter for our pain and thoughts
Little does it falter in it’s saintly rot
And little does it rain down pleasure atop rocks
-
Towering pulses in cavernous chests booming altering noises of gloomy doom and distress
decompression
decompress
-
Such success in sessions of secessions thought best bring messy manipulations of emotions and stress
Blessedly pressing the rest into vests of blasting intent and the buying of souls not spent
The buying of souls not spent
The theft of moral defense
The theft of moral defense

Relaxing in my garden chair blessedly alone,
with my cup of soothing chai and Scottish scone.
No TV, computer, iPod, kith or kin,
my crossword puzzle I shall now begin.
So, an eight-word name for a Mayan sink?
A quika--I didn't even have to think!
As the sun clears the rolling hills afar
I'm done, a crossword superstar!
My Corgi Hal licks my face in congratulations,
as the sun-lit moor beckons her invitation.
Such a simple, sweet, tranquil pleasure,
Sunday morning crosswords, my priceless treasure.

Decreased dissension
grudgingly did abate
unclouded protests trumpet
Trump to abdicate
irrefutable proof generates
activist voices to accumulate
linkedin over Green Party
blessedly to administrate
hoop fully figurative tide
will turn and aerate
political atmosphere whereby
progressive minds will affiliate
otherwise business as usual,
cuz spewing deadly particulate
will only aggravate
dire straits, where
webbed wide world series
of unfortunate events will airdate
prophetic apocalyptic fate
especially if nonprogressive
stodgy commander in chief re-elected
flush with bigotry and hate
increased chance (chants) ripe state
for revolution avast swath
of population to amalgamate,
and overthrow anachronistic government
absolute zero survival unless dramatic
nondestructive strategy eschewed
to supplant exploitation and mandate
radical transformation, which dramatic
shift off grid if lucky requisite
Earth friendly manufacturing
can possibly ameliorate.

My Window
From my window I can splendidly see
The first rays of the sun so soft ,
Striking the leaves of the stately tree
And the feathers of the bird that sails aloft;
I see cows grazing on the grassy green,
Flowers smiling with radiance in the lustrous light,
Clouds sailing to kingdoms before unseen ,
The hills beyond a shining sight;
With faltering steps the little child walks
Towards the gates of her house to see
The world beyond, the panorama of life talks
In garbled language and in actions so free;
The twilight I watch from my window clear
As golden hues of the setting sun
The sky and clouds with paint endear ,
Nature's elegance is never undone;
At night when through my window beams
The moon and stars' soothing light,
Dream and vision in silence streams
Into the mind , lucid and bright;
Window of my mind , window of my heart ,
Through your hallowed portals this Self sets sail
To worlds of bliss does it blessedly depart,
My window does the Immortal Spirit hail.

Tired, after hours
of too much poetry.
Now back to cold,
harsh reality.
You so wish to live in
modes, planetary.
But there is wash to do,
and things delightfully,
blessedly ordinary.

POETIC PRIME MURDER WAS THE CRIME
Let your eyes feed on this Crime scene
and be witness to my rhyme scheme.
Imaginative slaughter:I was about to totally
slice the Pen's neck indelibrately
and let it blessedly bleed till eternity
but the smooth-sailing fluidity
of this piece needed a surrender to brevity
and nourishly name this poetic vicinity
that have been creatively created.
Coin this murder case a name fitted,
please be the jury of this case stated
if some literary judgment can be initiated.

Imagine if you could visit Heaven for only one day...
Who would you search for, and what would you say?
Can you envision the beauty beyond its streets of gold?
Would it be as glorious as in the Bible it's been foretold?
Would you search for your dearly deceased loved ones,
mothers, fathers, brothers, daughters and sons?
Would you wish to remain with them in such a divine place?
Would you fall to your knees if you saw God’s face?
Imagine such an Elysian paradise without violence or hate,
where everyone is blessedly content, and no one is irate.
Visualize greeting your grandparents as they were in youth.
Can you conceive a realm where no lies are told; only truth?
If a visit I could make, I'd thank God for such an amazing gift.
Then sit upon a fluffy cloud, looking around as I slowly drift.
I would hold my Mother's hand and probably beg to stay.
Can you imagine visiting Heaven, even if for only one day?

Bearing boyish looks of our great Daddy
here stands our very own Manong* Rudy
the brood’s eldest, yet he looks the youngest
simply because his virtue of kind patience is longest.
Exemplifying legacy of Dad
Manong Rud makes our clan blessedly glad
his earnest loving and thoughtful gesture
remind us of our father’s care as well as wise nurture.
Grateful to God for Manong Rudy dear
we, his siblings, send him our prayer cheer
while supporting his servant leadership
of faithful stewardship midst warm and virtual fellowship*.
*”Manong” in our local dialect means “Older Brother.” Rudy is the nickname of our eldest brother, Rodolfo.
**1John 1:3 … Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
