Notes About The Poem

Man of Words

Relaxing in my garden chair blessedly alone,
with my cup of soothing chai and Scottish scone.
No TV, computer, iPod, kith or kin,
my crossword puzzle I shall now begin.

So, an eight-word name for a Mayan sink?
A quika--I didn't even have to think!
As the sun clears the rolling hills afar
I'm done, a crossword superstar!

My Corgi Hal licks my face in congratulations,
as the sun-lit moor beckons her invitation.
Such a simple, sweet, tranquil pleasure,
Sunday morning crosswords, my priceless treasure.

This poem was so delightful. Blueberry scones, my favorite, just not The New York Times Crossword..much too hard. Such a peaceful, soothing poem Robert. I wish I could sit nearby. I could feel your inner peace, smell the flowers and hear the morning birds.

Always happy to share any and all of the inner peace of which I may be blessed on certain mornings. Hope you stop by on one of those mornings, Marikate. Peace be with you in these holy days of Passover and Easter.

This is wonderfully written Robert you can't beat doing something you love and having your loving dog participate too. This one is a favorite reminded me of when I am happy with my dog doing anything that brings us joy together. Happy moments are the best. Thanks for sharing...

Absolutely, my fondest memory and experiences tend to be no more than a smiling face of a bygone friend, the affection of a loving dog and a warm brew on a chilly morning. Thanks for your visits, Michael!
