Hello. My name is Julia A. Keirns and I have been a writer for as long as I can remember. I am about to be 56 years old and had my first poem published when I was only 17 (of course under my maiden name). I have been married (to the same man) for 34 years. We have three wonderful children and 5 beautiful grandchildren. Our lives are full.

The years of life have kept me busy with jobs, marriage, kids and everything in between. So, for the most part, I have not always been focused on my writing. It is finally that time of life for me.

This biography is written in June 2020 and I am in my final class of my Associate of Arts Degree and will finish in July with a 4.0. I am also currently enrolled at SNHU to get a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and English. I expect my writing to only get better.

My language is simple, I write from the heart. I am a little old school and tend to write a lot of rhyme. I love writing stories and poetry for children and hope someday to have more of that published. I have also written for four local newspapers for the past three years and did have my own weekly column, but was “let go” due to lack of advertising when the coronavirus issue began in March. I am good at nonfiction and feature articles about people and animals and love hearing other people’s stories. I have also discovered an intriguing interest in history. After all, the past is where we came from. I hope others will read something I have written and find joy and meaning in it for themselves.
