Winter

Beyond these walls the wind blows cold Snowflakes fall to the ground. Winter surrounds our world with white The silence seems to grow loud. All is asleep, so calm and at peace The flowers, the grass, the trees. The birds are no longer singing The butterflies no longer fly Wintertime is here once more And once more I ask why.

Me, too: Same question, Julia. (Confound it!) Of course, the answer I keep hearing is the same too -- So you'll appreciate Spring... Ha, ha: There's no Spring in Chicago to speak of. Temp goes from the 40's to the 90's in a flash. Just two seasons here: Winter and Construction, as the joke goes. Enjoyed your muse. Thanks, Julia. :) gw
