Please Don'T Let Me Die

I dream about the future
And what may come tomorrow.
Then reality comes back to life
Along with the pain and sorrow.
I think about what could have been
While I hide behind my tears.
It's hard to face the thought of losing
All those wonderful years.
I think of you
How special you are
And then I begin to cry.
It isn't fair
It can't be true
God, please don't let me die.

As a cancer survivor, I can identify with everything you have expressed. There are no answers, for we all are the walking dead. Well written.
