Hear the Sounds

Turn off the noise and listen
Pay attention to the sounds
Hear the world around you.

The noise is distracting
It occupies our minds
We only hear what we want to.

Turn off the tv
Shut off the phone
Head outside for a change.

No radio music
No videos or games
To be heard in any range.

Hear the sound of the wind
The breeze as it blows
Through the leaves of the trees in the yard.

Hear the birds in the air
The squirrels in the grass
As they bury their nuts in the yard.

Hear the sun and the moon
The stars in the night
As they glow way up in the sky.

Hear the sounds of the day
The sounds of the night
As the passage of time goes by.
