Purpose

Wasting away
Moments to years
Holding Back
The flow of tears
Wishing for more
Wanting no less
Than to feel each day
A sense of purpose.

I can relate to your poem. You might want to make connections with people on linkedin on different industries or charities and send them articles or related info. (I just read this article...). It can help. Nice poem. Keep writing.

nietzche was right....one must search for purpose/meaning by asking "their own" questions and not just accepting others dictates...as too....any body's sense of purpose...…..stan sand

Julia: You have put into words the feeling I've had since retiring 20 years ago. There is comfort in seeing it spelled out so clearly. Thank you for sharing with all of us on the soup. oldbuck

If we all had "a sense of purpose" every day, the world would be fixed. And we might have world peace.
