Happy Birthday ‘Merica

It’s happy birthday ‘Merica
I wish you all the best
You’ve kept us free for all these years
You’re better than the rest

For those who claim you’ve lost your glow
They’ve lost their sappy minds
Our unity must win the day
For that’s the tie that binds

The Drain

Steam can't hide tear drops
The sound of water, sobs
They're back again, thoughts once forgotten
Of a Lover lost

It was on a summer night, we met
Now Winter's chill reminds
No wedding ring, No vows were made
Only Love, the tie that binds

And when I'm in The dark place now
The memories do flow
As if He tries to ease the pain
But, like a thorny vine, it grows

And so, I shut the water down , and try to refrain
From thinking thoughts of things that Died
And Live the Life I've made
With my thoughts, my sullen mood
Drips slowly down the drain
I dry myself, Anew once more
Until we meet again

Stars and Stripes

Out of great struggle
  comes even greater opportunity

Each threat being glue
  and a tie that binds

With noble purpose
  we define our highest calling

Freedom in our blood
  —by our will refined

As you exchange those precious vows,
I view the scene through happy tears--
white lace, your prince, sweet looks of love,
broad smiles, no signs of nervous fears.

When Blues and Royals coat and grand
Givenchy gown are stored away,
real life together will begin.
Your choices will be wise, I pray.

Remember, please, the promises
you've made today; and always keep
them faithfully. May your love grow,
and may you laugh more than you weep.

My dear, you’re now a Princess and
a Duchess. More importantly,
you hold the title “Daughter.” That’s
the one that means the most to ME!

Dear Harry, you’re a Prince and Duke;
some day you could be Britain’s King.
Also, you are a son-in-law--
to ME, the most important thing!

You’ll face some challenges unique
to royal couples. There must be
a tie that binds you through it all,
that LOVE so clear for all to see.

Emotions

All about emotion
They flow just like the ocean
Before you get the notion
It is like a deep devotion

There are emotions of different kinds
Wrong types of emotion can ruin minds
With emotion you get all the finds
It is like the tie that binds.

Emotions are from deep within
Some emotions can cause a great sin
Emotions can make your head spin
Negative emotions can be like type of hard tin

Emotions can be seen all over town
Emotions can sometimes let you down
It can have a sad face or a frown
But eventually will let you drown.

Premium Member A Distant Love

We'll never feel the warmth of love's embrace
Chilled ripples on the skin from it's caress
Experience first hand that sweetest taste
Or kiss away sad tears of loneliness

To love her means I'll die a thousand deaths
Each thought, each dream, a poniard through my heart
Then say, "I love you," with each dying breath
A Shakespeare tragedy played out in parts

Yet love is unrestrained by boundaries
It lives and grows inside the heart and mind
The feeling that removes all quandaries
True love is still the strongest tie that binds

Regardless of the miles we are apart
The love we share connects from heart to heart

Homecoming

Homecoming is a time to celebrate,
A time to draw close once more,
To strengthen the ties that bind us
With God’s help- now and forevermore.

It’s a joyous day when we can go home again,
And visit with friends that we hold dear.
Renewing old friendships, and good times we’ve had,
Laughing and sharing, with friends from both far and near.

Blest be the tie that binds us,
And draws us closer with each passing day.
The fellowship of good friends is worth far more,
Than all the treasures the rich have stored away.

Since I Died

The tie that binds burns deep in the darkness
Three years since I buried you high on a hill
just trying to keep myself still
No light will ever show these scars again
deep as they are (I know you are never far)
A trail of blood soaked roads leads me to the pain

As the dark set's I feel you
As the pain stings I see you
As the rope burns I taste you
As the road turns I smell you

Sick and twisted movie playing over and over
I can’t stop this madness
Riding to the darkness keeps me forever here without you
bleeding for you

As the dark set's I feel you
As the pain stings I see you
As the rope burns I taste you
As the road turns I smell you

I knew it when it started this was the only End
Ever chasing the death I am running from
Winning at the cost of losing

The tie that binds us burns deep in that darkness

I long for just one more taste....

Father's Advice On Being A Man
("For Adult Contest")

Father said to son never be ashamed to be a man,
should you get married, live your life with a plan.
Not too harsh or rigid, else failure you will see,
be a good decent man, the one you admire in me.

Life can be so very cruel, the world can be too,
live deeply as you love, loving family as we do.
You see, it is the responsibility to be as good
as your life will permit and you know you should.

Never be ashamed for the world to see you cry,
cry for joy, as life does go on even after you die.
Write your core principles deep into solid stone,
for there are no overs after we are passed on.

Know that love is truly the great tie that binds,
watch whom you embrace, the world has all kinds.
Mothers are to be held in a very special embrace,
with love in your heart and a smile on your face.

If life ever gives you far more than you can bear
ask family to help, just you remember to share.
Remember the love coming from Mother and I,
walk a good path in this world and know the why.

For Dave

Feel their presence near
Holding you so dear
Hands cupped catching tears that flow.
Always at your side
Hearing when you cried
Thank you for the love you show.

When you think of me
Know that I will be
Rushing to be at your side.
In time you will know
Why things happened so
Blessed is the tie that binds.

My Grandpa

My Grandpa

There are not many people in this world
That could say they have a Grandpa like mine
For as long as I remember he was always there
And when I went to school he’d call to see if I was fine

He taught me how to ride the bicycle
And brought me home a new fishing pole
Together we’d pack a lunch and a thermos
And head for our favorite fishing hole

He taught me how to clean the fish we caught
And how to bait the hook just right
He showed me how to bring in the fish
Especially the ones that put up such a fight

I remember hot summer days
And we would pack up and go swim
And camp for weekend of fun
Those memories for me will never dim

He is gone now these many years
But I will never forget the many times
He filled that empty feeling I have now
He was my anchor and tie that binds

No I shall never forget the times
He would tease me into a smile
Telling me how much he loved me
 Making my summers all worthwhile.

He left behind so many things
When he left this world for another
But time marches on and the day will come
When once again we’ll be together

 Connie Moore

The Green Lantern

As I walk into this den of lions,
hungry whores and liars lying,
green light shines upon my talons,
and I am where my kind belongs
For none can break this tie that binds us;
wicked, wretched weave inside us;
living, breathing, breeding virus,
and I am right within the wrong.

The Sirens sound, the dark surrounds me,
Hounds of Hell, they maul and mount me.
Devils pour the whiskey down me,
drown me in their emerald sin.
Yet when I wake alone tomorrow,
poisoned by regret and sorrow,
deep in debt; no love to borrow,
it’s off to Hell I’m bound again.

Premium Member Holding a Small Hand

my hands are worn with age
her hands are plump with youth
the loving is the same though
In their clasp there is a truth

I hold the future in my hand
she holds memories of the past
her grandma is the tie that binds
One day she will understand at last

such trust in her little grasp
and security and love in mine
together we will walk the path
I know for her stars will yet align

Holding hands a lovely treasure
A small gift given without measure...

God's Labyrinth

A game I play in a race in a maze against no ordinary race.
Where my human mind begins to raise the thoughts in box of lost and
found.
In order to see I have to open my eyes and sweep the seas.
The passion within will never exposes to compare the picture of one's
stare.
Water and fire are 2 simile only I choose to see.
Hot and cold no one knows the beauty that will never show.
The sun and moon are 2 buddies blinding us with beauty like bullies.

Pulverizing my pain darken the stain with nothing to gain.
look inside you won't see beauty on this side where I hide while I'm
alive.
Love bought me time from the enemy at the gate of hate and crime.
Ashes to ashes a life with no trust a box of rust and dust to dust.
To find the tie that binds true beauty beyond the skies, I would truly
have to die.
I hold my chest~ pass all pawns across the chess of God's land holding
his hand.
A puzzled walk connecting~dots of faith, hope, and victory in God's
Labyrinth.

For Your Eyes Only

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

I can’t decide what I want to hide
But I don’t have anything to show
To conceal all one feels
The fog’s obscuring all that I know
Conditions find the light that blinds
Clarify these blurry lines
I beseech you
Cut the cursed tie that binds
