FOR YOUR EYES ONLY
I can’t decide what I want to hide
But I don’t have anything to show
To conceal all one feels
The fog’s obscuring all that I know
Conditions find the light that blinds
Clarify these blurry lines
I beseech you
Cut the cursed tie that binds
Form:
resplendent is the love that comes
when two hearts beat--as if one
nothing greater than the tie that binds
nothing greater shall you find
kindred spirits that find a path
footsteps tread a smooth swath
souls intertwined with silver string
everlasting and revering
Out of great struggle
comes even greater opportunity
Each threat being glue
and a tie that binds
With noble purpose
we define our highest calling
Freedom in our blood
—by our will refined

Happy Birthday ‘Merica
It’s happy birthday ‘Merica
I wish you all the best
You’ve kept us free for all these years
You’re better than the rest
For those who claim you’ve lost your glow
They’ve lost their sappy minds
Our unity must win the day
For that’s the tie that binds
Feel their presence near
Holding you so dear
Hands cupped catching tears that flow.
Always at your side
Hearing when you cried
Thank you for the love you show.
When you think of me
Know that I will be
Rushing to be at your side.
In time you will know
Why things happened so
Blessed is the tie that binds.

For Dave and all those who have lost loved ones.
Painted clouds of ocean shores
Purple glowing golden isles
Dreamland harbors shadow moors
Brimming eyes of saddened smiles
Out of reach still darker turning
In a hundred thousand miles
Trail of fire on changing canvas
Mosaic view through splintered tiles
Filled with other stars aburning
Spinning time the tie that binds us
Opens senses and beguiles
While ever patient death yet finds us
Astride of hope with all her wiles
The beginning has begun – light breaks through a broken past.
I walked around the turn and jumped through the looking glass.
I dizzied in the bend, and knew it wouldn’t last,
my battleship has sunk… the flag now at half-mast.
A garden I now grow, and tend it every day.
The Cheshire Cat - it grins – love’s lust in a passion play.
I seek the path that leads, believing I won’t stray…
No beginning and no end; A tie that binds, they say.
