Like Moses in the desert, I have wandered.
My destination nowhere in my sight.
I’m searching for the joy I have been promised
But hampered by the seeming lack of light.
Like Icarus of old, I am a pris’ner.
I’m chained here to the ground by gravity,
And haunted by the things I can’t accomplish,
The dreams of places I will never

Hercules Got This Dance

   Hercules peered out on the dance floor
     spotted beautiful Delilah holding court

   Scanned the room for Samson but 
     saw a chair where hair'd been cut

The Migthy Power of Hercules

upon 
the 
ancient biblical world
her 
green eyes, makeup
wearing a black velvet dress
and ruby red shoes 
deceived and betrayed
the
supernatural power and strength 
of 
the 
mighty Hercules
while
shearing
the
locks of hair
that
rest
upon
his graceful head
thus
unlocking 
the 
secret of his
supernatural strength and power
while
causing him
to 
weaken and fall to his knees
the
mighty power of Hercules
you Jezebel!

Straight perfect light moves
    guiding spirits back to land
               pleased to hug them

Hera his mother jealous of him 
Had left him in the woods to expire
Hidden and fed from Minerva’s nipple
He is imbued with strength
Hence “The Strongest of all Gods”
His twelve labors a penance fulfilled

Handsomely heroic
Half human heavyweight
Hera hates, harries him
Hacks hideous hydras
Hunts horrid Hades hound
Hippolyta heister
Hitches honey, Hebe

Hercules and Adonis Serenade Devout

Hercules was serenading his sweetie from a wobbly willow chair.
His melodic notes of love swoon floated mightily in the air.
His voice was on fire today, all the females better watch out.
Serenading a sisterly trio – Ms. Meow, Ms. Prayer and Ms. Devout.

What are you yowling about? Asked a grouchy tom name of Pete.

Stephen Hercules Shaw 
Much loved, much missed 
Born the same year as you. 
I rest on the bench 
your mother bought, 
your brother bought, 
your friends bought, 
to remember 
and slowly forget. 
 
The ducks half swim, half skate 
Over the half-frozen half-winter lake 
as I, half blind, half lame, half finished 
watch ripples climb

is a made up story

and continues to feed

Hercules was my pet monster
                                           He rode a big roller coaster

You should see my little pug.
He loves to play and sit on his rug.

He's quite a little guy
the apple of my eye.

He's so smart too
the things he does would amaze you.

He loves to nuzzle my neck and chin.
He is so sweet I can't help but grin.

My little pug
as snug as a bug.
