The northern pintail does not hesitate.
For mating season, he's never late.
When he espies the first spring flower,
He heads north at fifty miles per hour.

A hungry cat
might pick at a rat
But she'd prefer to
feast on a fish
Whereas a dog
refuses 'puppy chow'
If he espies
some meat on a bone
As for me, I'm not picky
I'll eat what's put on my plate
As long as it's still edible ~
to Heaven I don't want to be late

DRAWING WITH INK AND BRUSH
By the corner of the room,
there you'd find the comely girl who draws
and paints with just her ink and brush.
She looks and observes carefully,
and then draws not only what the eyes see
but also the souls of men.
Others like her draw and edit,
they touch and alter so their painting
is rid of imperfections.
They know with flattery, falsehood and deceit,
they get what they want.
so they paint what the people want to see.
But the artist who draws and paints
rendering a representation of life the way it is,
receives little or no accolades.
Oftentimes, the artist is perceived as hardy
and complex but the craft is soft
and adds value to lives.
In that little corner of hers,
she espies the world through a lens
and draws what she sees devoid of taradiddle.
Unafraid she stands,
and calls you what you are
then proceeds to draw a portrait of you.
It rattles many how naked they stand
before the painter whose drawings depict
the true image of who they are.
With just her ink and brush,
the comely girl by the corner of the room
draws both the gangbusters and grotesque of the world.

My lovely kitten laps up milk
I stroke her fur it’s as smooth as silk
Fluffy espies butterflies with delight
she wants to play, paws reach out -
her new friends fly away!
She clambers upon the garden wall
loses her footing, I watch her fall
Meowing loudly I hear her call
next minute, she’s chasing her new ball!
curious kitten
frolics in the summer sun …
poppies sway in breeze

Lovely to know He is everywhere,
For love blooms anywhere He goes,
Answering every fervent prayer-
The source of endless rainbows!
Knowing just what to do and when,
Every single time, right on time;
So shadow flowers may recur again,
And fruit so blushes at its prime.
And creepers know whence to creep,
As bunnies hop in fields of summer;
And Mole knows if he's in too deep,
While each early follows latecomer.
He espies the trailing fireflies,
Glamourizing all the summer nights;
And hears the many fatigued cries,
Of songbirds on southern flights.
He created magic of midnight stars,
And the long slow dance of the moon;
Oversaw our reigns of ancient tsars,
And commanded shadows at high noon!

She'd had her round in Life's blighting furnace,
Where stealthy wear and age blurred her face.
Dents shot where dreamy dimples had grown,
Lightning smiles usurped by involuntary frown.
In her livelier turns by Midas' glowing shores,
She galloped and gleamed like grated brass.
Time’s grim cankers fell on the rarefied feast
Of the cutest eye ever cast on envious glass.
If as a reincarnated phoenix's her gone grin
Could twirl and morph into its erstwhile arc,
She’d anon repulse her timing nemesis’ sin,
And give her faded glories an eternal spark.
Bereft of that fairy fowl's sheen-saving magic,
She’d to inevitably brave decay's stoic scythe.
Merry rhyme sung her sweet charms to mimic
Faded to ethers wherein dead beauties writhe.
No looker who her earth-blemished visage espies,
Can know she was the fairest star in kindlier skies.

A fawn
caught
in a dawning
of a morning
kiss,
Head rise
and espies
high skies
sniffs,
Find edibles
accessible
incredibles
bliss,
It jerks
one lurks
now alert
amiss,
harm perceives
imminent believes
escapes heaves
dismiss.

Born so meek, far out at sea
She gathers strength, espies the shore
White caps atop her apogee
Escaping ocean's grip, the wave is free
Foam and spray rise high and roar
Born so meek far out at sea
Mounting ever higher she would be
A fount, from her triumphant waters soar
White caps atop her apogee
Sensing shoreline, ravenous, hungry
Lapping up beleaguered shores
Born so meek far out at sea
Settling in the sand, down on her knee
Peaceful calm now, powerful no more
White caps atop her apogee
She now recedes, stripped of pedigree
Nor mist with drops of salty spray
Born so meek far out at sea
White caps atop her apogee

Waves crest briefly, espies the seas expanse,
So far from shore, patience, creeps e'er so close,
Braves surfs the crest, on boards they take a stance,
Radar in their psyche of what all knows,
Saves for another day challenge a chance,
A star peers horizon's waves crest and pose,
Crests still tops the waves, like eyes blues the night,
Guests on a beach, sees sea with eyes of white.

A tapestry lay in an ancient sun,
Basking neath a ventrous day yet unspun,
Colorful hues of ocher and saffron,
Draws aqueous fumes that moist production,
Every eye, blossom, unhatched egg, greet, opens,
Fortuitous bounty spreads emotions,
Gathered, skins, feathers, and scales, 'bout all strewn,
Harken a flightless prayerful dove a tune,
Invocates breaths to cite a liturgy,
Jolts loose a cloak of boundless energy,
Kingpin meanders its righteous release,
Lifts a poised sky veiled like an altar piece,
Mirrored echoes o'er a restless domain,
Naked beings wild, nay wear traps of vain,
Oaths show side-by-side, generating warmths,
Pleasant touch between life, light and air, calms,
Qat leaves pools a creeks hold, stirs brew a tea,
Raven espies to hover, pecks a spree,
Symmetry fulfills in a baseless realm,
Tenacious wanton rhapsody days' whelm,
Universe descendants be a joint trust,
Vast spectered spectrums spirals to adjust,
Webbed stars a new sky, quietude abound,
Xenon fades into a nulled swarty crowned,
Yielding yawns, surrenders lids to be froze,
Zzz's orchestrates descents towards a lulled doze.

A horseman pauses on the mesa’s rim
Like a shadow against the crimson skies.
Across a gloaming valley, he espies
A lone light where the purple sage grows dim.
The land is lovely, obscure, and serene,
As the stars wink on and begin to gleam.
The rider sighs as his horse heaves its chest.
They must move along on their lonely quest.
Turning his horse slowly, he rides out straight,
For they must make haste as the hour is late.
They gallop away in the chill night air,
Hoof beats fast fading like dusk’s failing fire.
Down the dimming trail they ride on amain,
Between what lies ahead and what remains,
For there are miles to go into the night
And there are miles to go to reach the light.

Man lopes up mast-pole
And finds no maiden fair

Man bikes up mountain
And espies masts far from there
Biscay Basques back with wares rare

To count sinners in every square
Come to keep their bosoms bare
