Premium Member One I'll Never Forget

Another Friday by myself
I'll pull a memory off the shelf
And walk with it, it's one with you
Where we had coffee, just us two
We played that morning then had lunch
The Dimmick Inn, wait, was it brunch?
It doesn't matter, afterward
I drove back slow, it was inferred
That time would thus be short and sweet
Next to me in the front seat
We talked so freely, you and I
I didn't want the time to fly
But fly it did, next thing I know
You told me that you had to go
I dropped you off, time to resume
You liked the Vera Wang perfume
I wasn't sure then if you would
But when you did I felt so good

Raak jy aan my - English translation included

Raak jy aan my

Die more son is ‘n kus op my wang
So sag soos ‘n veer, raak jy aan my
met die son en maak my verlang,

Die straal in die maan lig, streel my oë
So sag en teer, raak jy aan my
dat ek jou sien met ander oë.

Die wind waai en my omhels
So hou jy my vas, raak jy aan my
Ek voel jou soos ‘n pels,

Die blomme ruik soos jy
Met die reuk van roos, raak jy aan my
Die blomblaare sag, voel soos jy,

Die reën en hael, storm wat woed
Wat oor my spoel, raak jy aan my
Ek voel jou hier binne my bloed.

Touch me

The morning sun is a kiss on my cheek
As soft as a feather, you touch me
with the sun and stir my longing,

The ray in the moonlight strokes my eyes
So gentle and tender, you touch me
so I may see you with different eyes.

The wind blows and embraces me
So you hold me close, you touch me
I feel you like a fur,

The flowers smell like you
With the scent of rose, you touch me
The flower petals soft, feel like you,

The rain and hail, storm that rages
That washes over me, you touch me
I feel you here within my blood.

Lake of beauty there in France
Invitation for romance
Of course you know what I'll now say
I want to go with you someday

We don't know French but no big deal
We'll learn together, so much appeal
There is in doing things with you
And I still hope you want me to

But if you don't I understand
And I'll still write odes by my hand
To let you know that I'm still here
Expressing love through words, my dear

And if one day that well runs dry
Just look for me up in the sky
A little plane can create art
With it I'll draw for you a heart

And loop-the-loop over your head
In yellow smoke, a feather bed
Of lilac clouds and Vera Wang
Ascends from you, those scents will hang

And blend in with my best cologne
Acqua di Gio descends down
A fragrant zephyr fills the air
Together, forever floating there

Premium Member Dangerous Cargo - With Apologies To Hedy Lamarr

She slithered from the jungle in a Vera Wang sarong
Like some wicked juju temptress with no sense of right or wrong.
I remember how it thrilled me,
Oh yeah, when she shimmied in the buff;
And that first time she let loose, I thought I’d never get enough.
She hid a wealth of smuggled goods among her cargo.

I was cornered and defenseless; she was turning on the tease.
Then she wrapped her legs around me in an anaconda squeeze.
She had something sweet to teach me,
Oh yeah, more than modesty allowed.
So I poured a gin and tonic and I let myself get plowed.
She dealt in contraband delights with no embargo.

She was primitive and deadly. I was curious and young,
Groping hesitant, yet eager, heart to heart and tongue to tongue.
I plunged headlong with abandon,
Oh yeah, off those reckless, dizzy heights,
Spinning through a swirl of colors, shooting toward a burst of lights.
I came down withered, drained, and blank like no tomorrow.

You can run a little faster, beat the bullet from the gun.
You can run a little farther, almost halfway to the sun.
But when you run from Tondelayo,
Oh yeah, Christ, her cargo weighs a ton.

Goodnight My Beloved Grandma

Goodnight My Beloved Grandma (for Elizabeth Ugoeze Nwadinobi)

By Izunna Okafor

As an ocean bleeds unbounded
Troubling the sons it founded
In pathing the ways with tracks
Tears have bathed my wang with marks

What a world !

The wave blew aloud like a ruse
Kidnapping attentions as a tale
Only to jail some minds in her rue
Blinking as sorrow in the eyes of men

What a world !!

We never expected an untimely departure
But that has reposed our own to her home
For the time of men is tied to the nature
And our tears for the dead a show of sorrow

Death has seized the noble hen
And the chicks abandoned in the dusky earth
We cry not because we need a sympathetic help
But to cough sorrow off our heavy heart

Death is wicked
And the world a tricketh
But we'll forever remember you as a mother
Farewell and goodbye our dear grandmother

Good night !

Good night !!

Good night !!!

The Day I Met My Fate Was a Fine August Day

the day I met the love of my life
who became my wife
was a late August day
in South Korea

as Koreans put it
the sky is high
my horses are fat
and the king is far away

in late August early September
the weather turns in Korea
the humid sauna like temperatures
begin to abate

cool breezes cool the air
the sky is high
crystal clear
just a few clouds

the temperatures moderate
high in the 80’s low in the 60’s
just wonderful weather

the promise of nice fall weather
in the air
the killing heat of the summer
abates and dies down

and on such a lovely date
I met my fate
she walked out of my dreams
and into my life

and became my wife
during the brilliant
Autumn of Korea

before the winter
settled down on the land
To this day

when the autumn comes
I recall the halcyon date
when I met my fate

Xu Jiatun, where is he?

truth has no play in China today
only death and propaganda reign

There's a Shark In My Soup

'THERE'S A SHARK IN MY SOUP!'
Not an eyebrow was raised,
Not a shudder nor blood-curdling scream.
For in Peking you see, it's a delicacy
To consume shark fin soup it would seem.

But when diners looked round,
With his head in a bowl
Was renowned Casanova - Wang Yong.
And his date said : 'You cheat,! You're a shark on the beat!
So it's in that there bowl you belong!

Time Is Truth

Tell you an approach to rid of your doubts without
Practicing divination by tortoise’s shell and yarrow.
It takes three days of fire to single a jade stone out,
And a ridgepole tree it takes seven years to grow.
Zhou Gong once feared rumors about his loyalty,
Wang Mang seemed modest before his usurpation.
If they had died before the unveiling of the reality,
Who would know the truth in the later generation?

Translation of Song Dynasty Poem: Plum Trees

Plum trees by the corner,
Sole bloom of winter;
With faint fragrance
Adorning the frost.

Poem by Wang An Shi (1021-1086 )
-Chancellor of Song dynasty 1070-74/1075-76

Jy Het My Verander

Jy staan voor my
Die mooiste glimlag
Die reinheid van jou hart
Die skoonheid van jou siel

Die wind waai liggies
Jou hare is in my gesig
En jou wang is teen myne

Mag hierdie oomblik nooit weg gaan nie
Mag jy altyd hier bly
Mag ek jou altyd binne my arms veilig hou

Jou oë staar met liefde
Jou hart praat my taal
Jou lyf is teen myne

Alles het begin met 'n droom
Toe ek jou daar sien staan in die donker
Jy het alleen geloop
Toe was ek daar vir jou

Ek is verlief
My hart is gesteel
Ek is nie wat ek was nie
Jy het my verander met jou glimlag

The Village Fete

A glorious azure summer sky,
Triumphant with its blazing sun
Bestows the land with warmth and life
And lifts the hearts of everyone.

The Village fete is on today!
Come young and old, come rich and poor
To hear excited children laugh
To see old friends; perhaps make more…

Bright bunting in a breezy dance
Adorns each stall, gazebo, tent
And - while young Alice hooks her duck -
Delights in tickling Grandad’s head.

A glance beyond the Pivy doors
Reveals mouth-watering history
Through cakes and treats Great-Nan lives on
This recipe, her legacy.

Tradition swells – its Best in Show!
With pride and honour both at stake
Who’s miniature garden is the best?
Who’s bread will win the ‘Boys that Bake’?

There’s Wang the Welly, Splat the Rat
A barbecue to satisfy
There’s Guess the Weight and Lucky Dip
And Pimms and Beer, should you feel dry

The smiles and laughter fill the air
And filter up into the blue
And somewhere maybe, reach Great-Nan
Who sees her cake - and smiles with you.

Mountains

Whispers handsome infinity
Time stands still in the vicinity
Mountains that I love to see
Clouds hug them with impish glee
I am fortunate in my tent at Wang Di

On the top are my birds of pinkish hue
They slip out at my tempted palm
Mountains teach me how to sit and stare
Not to touch and instead satiate my gaze
At the play of lucky dreams on the cloud-hugged peaks

Wind blows into the rhododendrons
I want to rush inside the hug of clouds and flowers
Mountains teach me a lesson of not to hasten
Instead unfasten knots of beauty feelingly
I smile and say, it’s indeed very lovely

Wishing to smell the valley I step ahead
I’m about to lay my cheek on the velvet of the slopes
Mountains ask me not to get so tightly close
Instead inhale the aroma arising from the body
I envy the lambs that graze there to their heart’s content

Were I a lamb free to taste the valley and hill
But then the touch of timelessness would have been missing perhaps
Two dimples come out charmingly as the mountains say so
