Quiver Poems

Premium MemberIrish Accents and Caps

Irish accents quake my female southland.
Males 'neath Newsboy Caps stimulate dreamland.
Irish yearns may want touch,
Did not seek to feel such.
Ireland trips could stimulate mate's backhand.

The Magical Nature

How much time will you be in room?
Please come, play with us and bloom
Behind the bars, there's a chirping bird,
Sleeping still, have you not heard?

The gentle air through the breeze,
Occuring from moving of trees
Forests looking beautiful by its blow
"Hey You, focus it's showing its glow".

Everybody likes the rain,
And go for a dance on the plain
It fills the ponds and rivers with cheer
Making the weather a little quiver.

So let's go and break the boundary,
Leaving behind each doubt and quandary
With courage and fears and spirit wild,
Will face each challenge calm and mild.

Premium Memberarrows in a poet's quiver

poetry
goes beyond
a mere rhythmic flow of words
like a poultice, it draws out feelings and emotions
hidden between the lines, on a personal level
poetry is to be felt more so than read
when the reader identifies with the poet's words

poetry is a way of
sharing an experience
by linking the words with the reader's feelings

joy, sadness, love, fear, anger, and hope are all
arrows in a poet's quiver
aimed to strike the reader's heart

a poem is not meant to be read like a novel
it's to be savored
and enjoyed like a fine wine
poetry
is the catalyst
that evokes self-reflection
and elicits further thoughts

Into the Marsh

A dusty quiver lay on my back
Its arrows clean and sharp

I wade with purpose through itchy reeds
My boots dragging in the muck

I hear you before I see you
Your laugh collapsing the virgin marsh between us

A fistful of whites and yellows
My dear whites and yellows

Ready, steady
It’s no use!

For if I lose an arrow
My quiver will lighten
And my shoulders will slouch

Premium MemberThe Quiver

A thought
Of dreed
A primal fear
Sends a shiver
A quiver
Down the spine
And through
The soul
That makes
The body shake
And quake
A quick glance around
To see
If anyone noticed
The impromptu
Involuntary dance
Of the soul
In your body
That held
It down
That thought
That dreed
Those tortures
Of your
Soul

Arrow In My Quiver

Now that you walk the earth,
we await your story dear child

Were you sometimes seated in there
in a floating dream curving a path
like our favorite flower, baby's breath,
glistening in morning rain that makes
every drizzle even more beautiful?

With fire in each milestone,
like so much a stamen under sun
You carry the promise of bloom

Gratified you've touched our hearts
and imagination with the gift of life
bestowed upon you.
We'll never forget
the first time we
 saw you here

From mum and dad,
two candles dear son
and joyeux anniversaire!

Quiver

“Quiver”--how soft it glides ‘tween lips and teeth,
It almost feels like breathing in a wreath;
I can’t find words that can sound as tender
Except, possibly, “flower” and “whisper.”

“Quiver”--how opposite the image it brings:
Both unpleasant and delightful feelings;
Like a sore bee sting that gives the shudder,
Or a lover’s touch that makes one shiver.

A pretty thing makes one quiver with joy,
Another quivers in anger at a ploy.
One quivers, too, on witnessing horror,
But others quiver at a good humor.

“Quiver”--what a contradictory term!
It may draw a smile or may make one squirm:
A gentle breeze that does shake the flowers,
Or raging winds that come with rain showers.

A harp’s, or guitar’s, or violin’s strings
Must quiver before music can take wings;
But when the earth quivers, how great the fright
As walls come falling no matter the height.

            you touch my skin,
                  and I quiver,
not from the cold wind outdoors.
               oh, the warmth
       of your healing fingertips!
             it's all-consuming.

                 it soothes me
                 body and soul.
              in your soft hands,
       rumbling thunder of fever
          in the climax of winter;
       a sudden jolt of electricity...

               that sets ablaze
              neurons coursing
               through my brain
                   inexplicable,
    the strange yet divine feeling
           that takes hold of me.

                   each touch,
           a sublime sensation,
     cap-a-pie; as if comfortably
              wrapped in velvet.
              you touch my skin,
                   and I quiver.

Lift my soul to the farthest height
and let it fall into your eyes
so you may protect my love
like a precious jewel, that glitters and glows
on the landscape of your heart
let it be a guiding light in your darkest needs

feel my heart quiver
from your kiss of warmest rapture
feel its scented petals drifting on the wind of dreams
where two cross the sacred stream of love
beneath soft flickering glows of star-lit skies
and find the moonlight splayed upon our silhouette
in a welcomed understanding of quiet wonder and beauty
as we travel through the tender tethered region of love

“Have ye not yet by Holy Spirit been grazed ~
Caress divine sublime; may the Lord be praised”
~ quote by poet

Recognising God alone as the giver,
from time to time, sounds of silence we embrace,
whereupon our spine soon begins to quiver,
enlivened by magnetism, bestowed by grace,
bliss drenched in flow of soma nectar river,
that bursts forth from within, yet leaving no trace.
Oh hermit, know this as stark truth, not fiction;
rapture without end borne by bliss beat friction.

Your masculine embrace will always be my home
As you confess your love to me, my heart quivers
I’ll never forget when we said our vows in Rome
Your masculine embrace will always be my home
Kiss me, my love; it's sweeter than a honeycomb
To get to you, I would swim across many rivers
Your masculine embrace will always be my home
As you confess your love to me, my heart quivers
