Your telling haikus always stand out Sam. The images you use are so striking.... 'the vanilla moons', 'lavender twilights,' 'plaintive paeans' et all are some of the images so ingeniously locked together. A stunning piece with so much poetic appeal. Congratulations, dear Sam. I feel this should have been placed above my poem. (btw)

Valsa, I am so grateful and honored by your lovely message! Thank you many times over. I was mentioning to Lasaad that writing haiku with its emphasis in nature has made me so much more aware of nature's presence - it's colors, textures and changes! The other night at dusk the sky was a beautiful shade of lavender and the moon was the color of vanilla ice cream! It is truly an honor to share the podium with you. Your imagery and poetic artistry just blow me away! How blessed are we that we get to share our writing with each other - one poet to another! I am so glad you were able to experience that special night through this poem. Sending you blessings of peace and happiness my friend!

Hi Lasaad! Heartfelt gratitude coming your way for your delightful message of congratulations. Thank you. For me winter is a vibrant season full of contrasts, full of colors only seen in winter like a lavender sky and shades of amber in both the sunrise and the sunset. Writing haiku has heightened my awareness of the wonder of nature! Sending you blessings of peace and joy for Christmas!

What a wonderful description of this haiku chain JCB! "Cinematic!" Thank you so much for this delightful feedback my friend! Had a wonderful time writing this haiku drawing on our experiences of being in the mountains and seeing a vanilla colored moon in a pale lavender twilight sky the other night. Hope you are well. Thank you so much Anaya! This poem was inspired by living in the mountains several years ago. The colors at twilight are always so much more vibrant! But, living in Big Bear you too experienced the winter sunset colors and the quivering winds! Are you still digging out from the last storm last weekend?! Sending you blessings of joy and clear paths!!!
