Calm Waters, Safe Harbour

I've been to a few strange places in my day
some hotter than the hottest spot on the sun
some colder than the coldest crater on the moon
and all the while I was looking for someone
looking here looking there I was searching everywhere
now I found you you are the one my searching days are done
for my heart

On specific night, the moon shows part a story
With sliced light's slant on key rock,
By at odd interests' solarity—

The cold rock fires back
Through lumped scars mixed in as minerals;
From behind, dark side's show, light lack.

Sun spangled

Clavius

Who has never seen the hole inside the hole
On that moon parked there in the courtyard,
In the crater within the crater,
The cold silver light that Clavius generates?

We the lost mass
Obese owners of apartments with no view,
Blind travelers beneath the stars,
impatient patients,
ignorant of galaxies and infinity.

(Clavius is one of the largest crater formations on the Moon.

Opportunity

I never asked much 
of this world 
only an opportunity
a chance
That’s all
Nothing big
Simply something small
A crack that I 
could crawl through
A few bits of string
to weave as birds do
when they build their nest
into a rope to climb
out of the darkness
of this cold barren crater
into which I was born
From there I could
do the rest

The Crater

There is someone - a boy.
I shouldn't have taken the child here.
I'm slipping, taking him with me;
he won't let go of my hand.

We are on the very verge
of a deep pit,
teetering upon its crumbling edge,
at the craters floor a pool
in those waters are sauropods,
crocodilians.

Scree rolls under our feet;
the heavy handgun on my hip
weighing us down,

Audouin's Hunger

Had a thought a moment ago, just before I broke your aura'd wing, 
trapped here, forever, within Audouin's vast crater alone and pining. 
Starved for ages, a new gnawing hunger'd vision looked to bring., 
had we met, you and I, before the javelin started skyward climbing? 

Though skin is rough and jagged as scoria litter

The hands of God cradle
liquid sapphire splendor 
glistening peaks surround
like points on a royal crown. 

Behold the glory of the
serene, majestic lake
in whose mirrored reflection 
one might see the face of God.

Looking down high above in sunny skies
A view through aircraft window down below...
A sublime scene of beauty cast in eyes
Of a crater lake, crowned by pristine snow.
The island in its center brought such cheer,
A picture postcard flocked with evergreens,
With a sense of serenity so near
In glory of this lake and what she means.

I round a bend in the trail ...

And gasp, literally ...
The scene before me takes my breath away
And I stop, transfixed by the sheer breadth of the panorama
The shimmering span of Crater Lake ...

Clear, crystalline ...
Pure as the tears of Heaven
Translucent fathoms of water, waiting ...
Glassy, tranquil, yet the depths shroud an inky secret

He Will Dig You a Crater

Henry, an extraordinary excavator
Would arrive there sooner rather than later.

Like some giant's awesome soup bowl?

Waiting for a more convenient day?
