Finally renewed for a second year!  Has truly been like coming home--a welcoming, supportive and joyous home!  Have discovered several new forms have never seen before plus poets that work in all kinds of genres and forms.  So glad am here!

Well, I am from the South (USA) and have been writing poetry since my teen years.  Wish I could say pleasant words about the south and especially my native home, the Tarheel state!  But, too much vitriol to even write about the place.  There are probably good points, ". . bless your heart(s)..." ( that expression is dripping with irony, as it is really a veiled insult.)

Anyway, have lived on the west the last 30-35 years, in California and Oregon.  Married to a wonderful mate (You should see our astrologic comparison--mostly trines and conjunctions if you are into astrology.

my mate, Joyce, and I have made our living for a while as technical writers and editors.  At least it's not boring, pays well and keeps us writing!

Had no idea this would be so long.  am usually somewhat terse, but am overwhelmed by so many friendly, working poets.

On another note, have published extensively in quality journals in print and online.  Have also been anthologized several times,

BTW, Have a couple of websites (are not well kept up):  haikucrossings.blogspot.com (haiku, haibun, tanka major poetry); thomasjamesmartin.com (a bit of everything except poetry) and of course poetrysoup.com would be the third .

Your friend,

Tom
