This soup tastes
like a fancy hat
bewitching
alluring
beauties and beasts swirling heat
pulchritudinous
Slick smooth soup
papyrus inky
taste chuckling
lyrical
luscious sages engaging
scripting evolving
Nourishes
Shakespeare’s ladle dips
readers gape
poets stirring
dramatically press keys

“ The Now Moment is all we really have, holding our atomic Universe in its infinitisimal palm, thorn pierced and tender. ” Poet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peeped through drapes after domino dreams
debris falling from dim dubious sky
beautiful strelitzias covered in muck
glass, tin, twigs, paper decomposing
clouds calibrating stormy moment
Sleepy mind calculating a conclusion
"...end of Earth ! What am I to do !"
journals she wrapped in crystalline tears
brewing cappuccino with cheesy croissant
no breakfast in hydrangea heaven, for sure !
Conscience heralds : "Reach for no tasty morsel
seek instead stories standing in good stead
heading to abiding couch in blissful Dome
no secrets behold ~ Seize this Moment !"
Hastened to mirror asking demurely : "Tell me :
Is my crown glinting luminous or in lull ?"
mirror replied that skull holds grey matter !
then zooming arrived a Bright Yellow Truck
to clear storm's mess, a Carpe Diem zest…
Seize momentary cappuccino. Debris gone !
Contest: Write a Beautiful Rubaiyant
Looking for a city, where death's no fear
I believe there's a city far from here
One glorious city with streets of gold
In that city, I'll see again those dear
In that city by Jesus be consoled
The walls of twelve beautiful stones behold
There the sainted millions, never say goodbye
Being there is a reward of ninefold
In that awesome city, above the blue sky
In the place, where my tears Jesus will dry
Here on this earth evil lurks everywhere
Illnesses come at us, germs lie nearby
In that city, Jesus' light will be there
His beauty above all on earth to compare
Looking for a city built by Jesus
I'll never ever want to be elsewhere
One day I rode my bicycle out to the countryside,
where, the air was still, and trees stood tall in a row.
Their scent, a fragrance I had known long ago,
made me ponder of our fading culture and worried.
Resting on a rock beneath a sprawling tree,
I saw a maiden dressed in ancient garb.
She captivated me and led me to an ancient land
where people welcomed me with open eyes.
The maiden stepped outside,surrounded by friends,
and danced - so enchanting and graceful.
Then an old man clad in robes of old, appeared.
He said, "That maiden is your ancestor, revered,"
But when I woke up, my people stood close by,
and all the vision faded into the sky.
"The earth has music for those who listen."
- George Santayana.
....................................................
The rhythm on tree backs from woodpeckers' knocks,
With rustling of leaves as the trees moan in winds,
The roar of the falls down the hills thrills the flocks,
The whistling of gusts through the space in our minds...
Nature conducts its melody soft yet grand.
Beauty is nicely painted on your face
like a rose, neatly plucked from a garden
and carefully placed in a flower vase,
to spread its sweet fragrance with full pardon.
Inspired by: “My Cat Is High, and So Am I” by Thomas W. Case)
Honey, I was stoned, so stoned.
I hardly knew what was going on.
That’s when I saw it was gone.
The moon, I mean - hold on -
Takes a swig of tart, but sugary lemonade
I watch the moon - when it’s there - you know?
I’ve always loved the moon - its reflective glamor,
the way it seems to bend light around it,
like a beautiful woman walking into a bar.
The moons like my cat, she has beauty, without vanity
- and without much gravity - like, you know - the moon.
But as I was saying, it was gone - suddenly?
It felt sudden - and visceral - like I’d misplaced something.
I know what you’re thinking, and no, it wasn't behind clouds.
So anyway, man, I looked around and there it was, as if by magic,
it couldn’t have been any clearer and it's never looked nearer,
than it was, right there, in my rear-view mirror.
I had to laugh. You see, I was stoned - so stoned.
Stoned - but I’m never alone, when I can commune with the distant,
inconstant, love of my life, the ever-argent moon.
living my life my own way
will jumpstart me every day
reassuring me somehow
soulfully I complete now
I go a long way to find you
As on moon rays you alight
Shine like a star in indigo night
In my silken meadow
Like the drop of dew you glow
I make my love sparkle for you.
I go a long way to adore you
As you stroll with glee
On silver soaked beach of the sea
The waves spread strings of pearl
Your ivory feet they curl
I make my love adorn you.
I go a long way to seek you
An angel on my dream trail
Face shines with stardust veil
Your embrace takes me on a flight
My heart spreads wings in delight
I make my love fly forever for you.
I go a long way to own you
In the desolate land I walk lonely
You take me to the blooming valley
My desire turns into flower for you
Our future is tinged by its hue
I make my love create spring for you.
Contest : Write A Poem As Someone Else
Sponsored by : Matt Caliri
Summer soon prepares to start-
follow spring to paint new art;
change pastels to vivid hues-
willow-green to verdant, fuse.
Violets and daffodils-
tulips, iris, with their frills,
make the way for fuller scenes;
roses join as summer queens.
Babbling brooks flow full, with sound
from the rain that spring had downed.
Tall sunflowers sway and dance
neath blue skies- fine views, enhance.
Sunsets glow end of the day;
bright, fused colors then display.
Twilight turns on moonlit glows
casting light and shadow shows.
Summer Solstice is in June-
at mid-year when we commune
to spend time with everyone-
sharing beauty, fun, and sun.
I woke to the birds singing,
and distant church bells ringing;
my bedroom was sunshine hued,
it gave me a calm still mood.
Soon, I walked a lush green path,
in nature I hold no wrath;
I love the wandering vines,
and flowers colored like wines.
Love the stillness and deep hush,
caressed by natures paint brush;
I just breath in a sweet scene,
and I am filled with serene.
I come upon a blue stream,
peaceful, tranquil as a dream;
ducks float among grass reeds,
happy to eat water weeds.
Only God could create this,
this heaven on earth and bliss;
the trees form a church ceiling,
for my praying and healing.
So, when seeking deep, deep thoughts,
and to unravel life's knots;
I find myself in nature,
talking to Buddha-nature.
Looked at Jueju form online
Don't know if I'll have the time
Maybe I can write just one
Only four lines then I'm done
Rain stopped, now creek swiftly flows
The wind got up, howling blows
Chill 'pon air uninviting
Now about it, I'm writing
I know, this is not correct
Syllables I should've checked
Maybe studied in detail
Don't run me off on a rail
Gaze into deep, dark waters
How many share its quarters
Should I join them in deep cold
Never! I am not that bold
