I loved my make up today
My yellow concealer blended mighty well
At least it didn't turn out gray
Don't forget to draw water from the well
I kissed his fist so hard today
I smiled as I touched my bleeding lip
I admired the color in the mirror
I begged the heavens for this day
His artwork has no error
At least he touched me
ME
I won't forget to draw water from the well
The green and purple looked good today
I'm thinking of having the pattern tatted
Stencil huh
My mother chased me away
I don't think she liked the tattoo idea
As long as I remain the perfect canvas
I will draw water from the well

I like wearing makeup in the way that I do it
I like my big eyeliner, my colourful eyelids
My cheeks covered in a heavy layer of blush
A small little highlighter heart on the tip of my nose
And a shiny spot right on my angel kiss
A eyeliner drawing of a heart or a bee
Sometimes a star on the freckle by my eye
Colours of eyeshadow that match my fun earrings
Maybe my outfit, and maybe my shoes
I hate wearing makeup in the way of my peers
Skinny sharp eyeliner, tan or beige eyelids
Face covered in a layer of foundation, concealer, and bronzer
Highlight on only ever cheekbones
And of course the bridge of the nose
No cute little heart right by their eye
No colours to match with, they just wear gold earrings
Not to say that their makeup isn’t gorgeous
It suits them quite well although to me it's boring
They are happy with their makeup and that's all that really matters
But I wonder what they would do without societal pressures
i can’t get up in the morning, i'm frozen
my body wont budge
my brain screams at me pleading to get out of bed
but i can’t, i’m stuck
i’m heavy and exhausted
but i somehow find a way to move
my music plays and i’m finally smiling
i do my makeup, lipgloss, concealer, blush
then my hair, beautiful blonde curls
i put on my outfit for the day
but the shorts don’t look right
and the top is too tight
then tears roll back down my cheeks
i look in the mirror and hate what i see
my entire body floods with anger
i pull at my hair
and smudge my lipgloss
i feel even worse now, so i return to bed
again,
i’m stuck
in the same position as before
it took a one tiny thing
a tiny thing and i’m frozen
for hours
rotting in my bed
the cycle repeats countless times
i’m tired and feel numb
but no one understands
Somber Rebellion
Upon somber's horrid-rebellious fleet,
Corvus and ravens are victims who plead,
Nightmare which leeches through logic and glee,
Conceals itself behind bleaks ominous screams.
Coercion of luminity for pallid deeds,
Fabricates these mirrored-fraudulent beasts,
Wandering over a picayune defeat,
Condemning drab-shadows for your vulnerability.
Blight and woes for haul of gloom,
no stand for hope and bloom...
As it pulls us to an abyss of nothingness,
Why stand in path of haughtiness?
Concealer of truth, yet beholder of it too,
The coagulate of shade fears and escapes,
Across with warm bask of delicate ray,
Time's meticulous philosophy orders whoosh...it all Fades!

piper’s heart is full of joy
he scampers the water with joy
the brook gurgles a woodland greeting
balmy light wind twinkles leaves
they frolic in a lively happy way
the day is light, the minnows are dashing
piper scoops up some cool water and takes a drink
his hands are cold now, but worth it
there is a cough. He knows what it means.
He searches, but the woods are a great concealer.
He smiles as he glimpses the tiny white tail
of the deer as she bounds over a thicket
Oh ocean of that long-gone embryo
Careening stormy erratic, to pacific
Ever sculpting in navy-wavy trance
Atop your peaks diamond ambrosia
Never-never dreams, you've grown ~
Troughs, they stripped fear’s heart
Rendering a wanderer, now braver
Enameling away sea-shine opaline
as Nautili curling their striped sola
Soak me up to float down in blues
undulating in the sunk, spilled sou
roughened in a barnacle-concealer
Estuary-rich, unfurl the flowing life ~

Angels of Mercy
To all those who have been deemed essential
Dealing with a virus, with a death rate so potential
Looking into the eyes of a gowned, masked healer
Seeing fatigue and fear, but bravely the concealer
To all the police officers, who place their lives on the line
To all the nurses, who lovingly care for all those confined
To all the doctors, who have always been there for us all
To all the paramedics, caring for the big and very small
To all the bus drivers who bravely take people to and fro
To all the truckers, driving lonely, away from all they know
To all the grocery workers, stocking shelves of what we need
To all the frontline workers, always there to help us succeed
To all the families, adhering to all the social distancing now
To all the children, in this fearful time, being brave somehow
To each and everyone of us, this virus has somehow touched
We are all angels of mercy, our undying humanity untouched

In a back room in downtrodden and sleazy Manila
On the table cards money and a bottle of Tequila
Fortune lay in the hands of Jose the crooked dealer
Had piercing eyes and a nose like a broken tortilla
As if he had been groomed with a potatoe peeler
Always had an ace up his sleeves this amazing dealer
But to even the game his foes applied silicon sealer
To his coat and bankrupted the dishonest stealer
He found his comeuppance and glue was the healer
Gone were his days as slick professional concealer
He now resides in a prison cell in a disused castilla
Bread and water for him and no more grenadilla

you were always there, behind my back
women
a receiver
a concealer
a deceiver
you did what you did
while i bled among the dead
what follows must be read
this is what you said
Welcome to my world
you lost the toss
and now i am your boss
all that you lost
is the cost
of the frost
unwelcome
and cold
do what you told
follow the gold
for me to enfold
follow the gold
follow the gold
now hollow
back to back
you must swallow
the final attack
drown down
in the shallows
on your back
a weight you lack
it is the fate you create
to wait at the gate
the glass you cannot permeate
please go
please go
please
Don't see the point in make-up
I have faults it can't erase
Who cares if I'm attractive
If I always hide my face
I'll free my insecurities
And risk my reputation
To avoid suffocating
Under this foundation
The concealer is too heavy
My blemishes to small
I think I'll go uncovered
And just reveal my flaws
Behold my imperfections
I am coming clean
You may see that I have defects
But I'll wear them like a queen
What's the point of make-up
If it just weighs you down
And who will see the beauty
If it is hidden under your crown
I recall times that are now far from mind.
Times when I was told to mind my label;
left feeling I was of some other kind.
Searching revealed that I had no table.
Self reliance learned in lonely youth.
A gift from some far away unknown place;
instilled in me a taste for sacred truth.
My hunger never filled ahead of grace.
Facing fear as if I were unafraid.
Intuition grew when fed new knowledge.
Two faced; concealer, mascara, a masque.
Knowing fear, I seen fawns in foliage.
Negated when I received my label;
an account of life when told rings fable.

There was a time
When thunder was my shelter
Lightening and rain
I adored them
Because this was where i could sob
And noone would know
Id scream
And it could be disguised like smile
It was like hard tide hitting hard
Every time
Just when i thought i was gone
I was washed ashore undrowned
That day went
Like all days do
But still that terrible ten
Always hit like
A ship breaking in to two
The tears dried
I promised my self
To never be again teary eyed
I learned something from that cry
The heart mended
I vowed it would never be again broken
That throb is still there
But never will i feel or cry
Or damn even sigh
The waves of time will wash over
the concealer now a blessing
And rain a curse
Makeup won’t cover my red face today
All screwed up and tear stained, please stay away
The waterproof mascara has come off in bits
And the concealer melting round my red and swollen lips
Makeup won’t cover my sadness today
I guess I’ll look bad, just like my day.
Memories of old times haunt me. The dark, the fear, the hurt.
Even with friends to guide me, my qualities will revert.
Past taking hold of me once more,
aching of wounds inflicted, a never-closing sore.
Intoxicated rage, you’d wound me in your stride.
Early morning, with concealer, your beatings I would hide.
I crave the past despite its horrors, the always-coming pain. For then I’d cover bruises, now gashes, cuts, self-maim.
The gaping hole you’ve left me with, will never quite be closed.
All the time wearing jackets and hoodies, long pants, I can’t leave my scars exposed.
Placing the blade against my arm, drag, cut, watch the blood, repeat.
Until the physical pain blocks the mental, my work won’t be complete.
With one last slice, the final one, vision blurring, I fall to the floor.
Bleeding out, in my last moments I’m at peace. I’m gone before you open the door.
