Gold leaves glitter
like sunshine ensnared in eternity.
Two figures dissolve
into dulcet pattern,
bodies consumed by radiance
of gilded avalanche.
Only the kiss remains,
surrendered to self,
a petit perpetuity
between two mortals
in aureate suspension
of a moment stretched to forever.

Squares and rectangles cloak
the masculine frame of strength.
Circles and blossoms
veil the feminine flow of grace.
Together they tessellate,
the lattice of longing,
the geometry of flesh,
suffused with shimmer of silence.

Overwhelmed Avalanches of Doubt

So many ways to say one thing
More than one way to turn pawn to king
Too many turns to the grocery store
Which turn shall I take?

Countless words to choose from
From sunrise to sunset
Too many ends to be met
With no end

So many ways to say one thing

How will I say this?

The paralysis of perfection pours
A whisper at first
Drown out by the delusion of desirability
Preserved in acid proclamations of praise
Beating echoes in snowy peaks
Peaking in phrases veiled in value
Pouring
Heavy
 Heavy
  Heavy
On the mountaintop
  Failure
 Failure
Failure
One weakened layer causing seismic shifts
Elephant echoes fragmenting snowy ideals
Triggering avalanches of lost identity
Slabs of fallen promises break loose
Forming a track of forbidden truth
Too much weight bids perilous
Useless words of compliment
Descend to a suffocating
Ignominious demise
Plagued by tiny
Thoughts of
Fading

Muscle-shirt man took his cell phone for a walk.
His mutt was just a four-legged afterthought.
Sniffing out voles and angels from the wildflower troughs...
Muscle shirt man jerked him by the neck over and over again.

I was trapped by Muscle shirt man's loud cell phone drone.
And the mutt's giant wiggly bulldog anus.
I slowed down to gain them distance.
They soon disappeared beneath April's green Avalanche.

"Avalanche"

Ice lay brick by brick.
Echoes of death capped in white.
Unescapeable.

Avalanche

How does it feel to be loved?
Is it a mere feeling or something more divine
does it even exist in the real world
maybe I wish I had 'that' someone I could call mine.

How does it feel to be desired?
Is it lust or something beyond obsession
can that thirst even be satiated
maybe I just crave that kind of touch.

How does it feel to belong?
is it what people call home
can someone truly find 'the one'
maybe I just want to escape this raging storm.

How can I deny these feelings surfing up
never knew I would wish these upon
never felt this empty, this null
maybe I hope I soon find my own dusk til' dawn.

Premium Member The Bluest Avalanche

Earth once had a heartbeat.
Everything was sparkling-alive...
The sun and dirt.
A speck of pyrite
Rain clouds teasing the earth.

All that man touches eventually dies.
Wars spring from iron hands.
From the malignant flavor of religion.
From love gone feral.
For the lust of petrol lands.

When God kneaded man.
He kicked a mustard seed...
igniting the bluest avalanche.
All things beautiful were crushed.
All that is good was despised-disfigured.
Unrecognizable is the devil's latest fad.

This is the age of the ogre.
The age of opaqueness.
The age of the sub-cultured.
Dark matter of the soul percolates to the surface.
Faith is pulverized into the skin of oblivion.
The meek will inherit the stain of a dead earth.

A Poetry Avalanche

** A Poetry Avalanche **

Goodness! Lord!
I’m on a roll this morning!
The poetry keeps coming —
  nearly torturing!
My keypad arm and fingers are
  alrady so tired…
It’s as if
The address of poetry were
On fire!
— With every poem present there
   retreating
From the inspirations wrought from
   burning memories, preferring
The refreshing lure of
    allegories and fairy tales
    to aid my creating.

There are still three more hours
Marked off in my planner to turn
Words into exemplary verses.
However, ink now covers every page
Printed out, such that all my papers
   appear all scribbled and smeared.
So, I’ve quit scrawling in this diary
And brought my markers out, to kneel
Down here and write
All over
Across our living room’s floor!

Snowfall

He said it was muddy. I refused to believe it as it was snowing.

We were on a high avalanche.
But we were both too advanced in this world!

He said it was snowing. I refused as it was snowfall.

That led to a never-ending snowball!

Premium Member The Giant of Africa

Torrents of thoughts torment me
Floodgate of distractions rack my soul
Avalanche of delusions
Decapitate my mental faculty
As I muse over the degeneration
That has dogged my beloved country

She manifests every aspect
Of a failed state
The giant of Africa has lost control
Of her Territory to terrorists
Bandits have re-colonized my fatherland
Kidnappers strike terror into the hearts
Of weary and hapless Nigerians
While her economy continues to
Stumble and wobble with ignominy
In the hands of oil thieves

The ancient perpetrators of
rape
Against our father land
Are shamelessly like vultures
Gathering and flying over
The carcass of the comatose nation
To gang-rape her to death

Arise fellow Nigerians and stand firm
Let us take our country back
From chaos to path of sanity

Avalanche…

It only
Takes one candle’s flame
To drive out
The darkness -
In an avalanche of light
To crush the shadows

It only
Takes one snowflake’s song
To start an
Avalanche
Of mercy flowing chanting
In sweet melody

It only
Takes one brave flower
To stand up
Against storms
An avalanche of courage
The power of one

It only
Takes one prayer's plea
From meek hearts
To change hearts
In an avalanche of love
Smothering hatred.

Let us light
A twilight candle
That spreads out
Rays of grace
Sparkling fire -an avalanche –
Midnight’s morning dawn

Let us be
That avalanche of
Mercy’s grace
Brave flower
The candle in the darkness
The living prayer.

Six Line Stanzas

During WWII people lit a candle at 6 pm for peace. We are doing this and I hope you will do the same in an avalanche of light.

The Avalanche

Quietly they slept
Quietly the snow fell
Quietly the trees swayed
Slowly the snow got higher against the tiny window
Slowly the wind caused the pines to dance
Slowly the mountain watched the storm blow in
Quickly the drifts covered the cabin
Quickly the wind responded to the mountains request
Quickly the trees moved out of the way of the snow
Silently the mountain shook her shoulders
Silently the snow slid down her back
Silently the cabin disappeared from the mountain

Premium Member The Haunting Adventures of a Dirty Blonde Knight-Reporting On the Rumblings

LeClaire was at his Traitors Post
Getting a roast
From the Indian seller
One heck of a yeller
“I did not have an affair!”
She did swear
“I sold this guy
What he wanted to buy
A nice gift
To give his new bride a lift”
LeClaire
Felt very scared
There was no time to stop the press
Reporting this mess
Only find the truth
About an issue ready to hit the roof
Putting on his snow shovels
LeClaire headed out to prove the faithful knight had a lover
Seeing heroic foot prints he fixed his notebook
And took a look
Preparing for a fight
Knowing this path track was right
But then there was thunderous rumbling
An avalanche started crumbling
Feeling lucky like he rolled a seven
Escaping from going to heaven
This was not the one
Being smothered following Goldie lock knight and his mistress hon
When danger all cleared
Something else appeared
Which made LeClaire fear
A knight with golden locks
Image put LeClaire in shock
“Interview with you was fun
Did the story run?”
LeClaire feeling he was done
Peering up not knowing what to say
Except “it ran today”

This winter's been one big dump of snow
Will it ever stop or even just slow down

The neighborhood's come together
So we can all get out from under

We're struggling bundled in our parkas
Giving our shovels quite the workout

We're putting them to the test
Hardly giving them a bit of rest

Digging pushing throwing scraping
All while dreaming in prismacolor

Picturing a bright summer day
Smells of barbecue at our block party

Today's first order of the day
Get our shovels to scrape this snow away
