Come on folks. I'm getting good limericks, but the syllable counts are off.
Can't you please use the syllable counter Poetry Soup provides?
Just paste in the limerick text and click the "Count Syllables" button.
The results should look like the one below. 99669 on the right side.
The Syllable Counter is a function on the top banner on the right.

Our poem syllable counter counts the syllables for each line in a poem entered with hard returns. It is the BEST poetry syllable counter in the world. It uses a combination of a U.S. English syllable dictionary and a formula-based poem syllable counter algorithm. The syllable algorithm may not be entirely accurate due to the numerous syllabic anomalies found within the U.S. English language. As a result, we list the formula-based counter words and their syllable count so you can make any necessary corrections.

Initial judging is done. I need to do a re-pass to make sure. Also to prepare a blog as I have some suggestions on how to make a limerick funnier.

Dear Roy, people pronounce words differently. In England, "necessary" does not have four syllables - it has three. Ne ce sry. I try to take this into consideration when judging contests as this is an international site. Meter is another thing that can be changed by the different pronunciations. I actually wrote five or six poems for your contest and then had to choose the bawdiest one. I learned I'm not very bawdy. LOL Good luck to all the contestants! Have a nice weekend, Carolyn

I take these outliers into consideration when counting syllables. I'm very familiar with most pronunciations. Thanks!

roy, it is not a good counter for me. It said one of my syllables was a 0 (not counted programatically) something like that. I don't even know what that means.

It worked fine for all the limericks I pasted in. I verified manually. In any case, it's a good check and takes just a minute to do.
