Muse

To find a poem, stay close to home, no need for magic, nor cause to roam If closing eyes and knowing this...the wonders of poetic bliss Are close at hand, within the air...a poem resides most anywhere Within a friend, a morning sun, when life is fair, or just hum-drum It's everywhere, in someone's eye, a tear, or in a lullaby It's you and me, it's everyone, the ordinary day gone by A poem is like a tiny rose that starts new life, so tightly closed But given life, it opens wide, and takes you on a carpet ride Where magic words come from your soul, a part of you, you've always known Above the moon, beyond the stars, is not required from the start A poem is always there inside, the part you share, a piece of heart

Ah yes my friend, couldn't have said it better myself. To be honest, I couldn't have said it as GOOD myself. To be honest... (Oh well, you get the picture) I usually try to pick out a favorite line or two but you've spoiled EVERYTHING. They're all my favorites (Why you gotta be so GOOD?) Congratulations are DEFINITELY in order...

Carrie, you are so talented at choosing just the right words to convey what we poets aspire to reach in a poem. What a lovely poem that is sure to inspire a poem or two. I am sure to see this on the winner's list.

Ah, poesy! How can a poet not love a poem about poetry? There! I think I got all the p-words in. Anyway, kidding aside, this poem is one of your best that I have read. I presume it was in a contest based on the other comments. I'm sure it placed well. I'm fav'ing it!

Dear Carrie, You probably don't even know how much I enjoy reading your poetry, but you are one of the best on this site for sure. Indeed, poets receive inspiration for many things. (Famous quotes usually inspire me most, but nature does work its magic as well.) Loved your comparison of a poem to a budding rose! Congrats on your win. I'm sending an email to you. Love, Carolyn

Still poetic. Looking back through the years I noticed you there when I was new here. Over 6 years. I just want to say that I apreciate all your comments and longevity that we shared. I ment to send this soup mail but I think it's more meaningful saying it this way. You and a few friends have been with me all the way. And I just wanted to. ... say somewhere we have an aniversary. I know not where. But happy aniversary. Just because you were there. John that goes for Andrea too.

I guess yours is much closer to being what she wanted than mine was. She just did a blog that made me take my poem down. I was not addressing my muse poem specifically to her. This one of yours is very nice and is able to be seen as a poem that speaks to her as well as yourself, carrie.
