Thrust in the center of the storm
All I could see was You
My deepest fears had been born
My sanity like strings unloosed
Nerves unglued by life events
Perhaps this broke my mind
Strapped to a bed I no longer lament
Refused food or drink of any kind
The drugs they tried made me hide
Inside my paranoia so I didn’t speak
Except for occasionally with my eyes
At this one mental health nurse you see
She would gently hold my bound hand
And offered warm wishes and compassion
Through her empathetic angelic glance
I gained something humane in her passion
She’d offer me food which I refused
But fed my spirit with her kindness
After days my mangled mind improved
God sent her and a divine kiss
Through the eye of a manic storm
Where I lay broken despite grace of God
All I saw was this nurse's form
She grounded me with her heavenly heart

Sweet Spot
On the ever shifting sands of time
The spectrum of human action balances
On a fulcrum between extremes:
Total government and tyranny on the Left
Zero government and anarchy on the Right,
Two ways that on paper may look good
Until practice proves them otherwise.
And in the course of this rise and fall
Systems are engineered to cope
In waves of thesis, antithesis and synthesis
Unloosed to compete for hearts and votes
In the marketplace of ideas and commerce
Seeking a sweet spot, a middle way, free of extremes
Where the individual’s rights are protected
By a limited government, from an unlimited one
And all other predatory entities.
And when this spot is tasted
Balanced for an instant
The tipping point is reached,
The teeter becomes a totter,
And we ride the cycle of up and down again
Until exhausted, defeated or victorious
And leave the playground to the next generation,
Eyes bright and eager for hope and change.

a bed of stones unloosed to spill from its path
through fresh waters flow to the distant sea
laving pebbles from its silty rough wrath
from rivers fresh to brackish brine's debris
the journey ends where it began its ascendancy
drifting as the impetus of tidal destiny

mute ‘triloquist
and talking mime
went on a date
for the first time
he threw her voice
under the bus
you should have watched
the way she cussed
she shut him down
with signs that hurt
when slipped his hand
beneath her shirt
but then he gave
her new white gloves
and pantomimed
undying love
now she’s his doll
he needs no strings
unloosed his tongue
and now he sings

I caught a glimpse of the muse today
ahead in a crowd
coy smile turned my way
in an instant gone
spot of color in a monochrome fray
my heart, for an instant, forgot to beat
teeth catch my shout to stay
rough shoulders
coarse fabrics
all pressing round
air hot and stale
breathed by those others
rasping their rattle like sound
I push through, I cry out
finally lips have unloosed
only earns me hoarse shouts
dark faces, dark eyes
pouring down dark fear and doubt
spun out on carrow
castdown on main
my soul flew like an arrow
hope slucing into rusted drains
gurgled
like raw throats
choking
living only to die
and god help a man with light in his eye
'cause man just wasn't meant to fly...

Crazy 2020
Up side out – downright up –clocks get surly;
Rivers flow north – time faints – Murphy’s Law scores;
Early runs late now late running early –
One and three just don’t make four anymore.
Rosters crow at midnight – moonrise at noon;
Zebras minus stripes – giraffe with short legs;
Cats with trunks – hippos hop like kangaroos –
Cows give green milk – pink hens laying pink eggs.
Natural order all in shambles – spun round –
Winter's wearing flowers – snowflakes confused;
Mother Nature’s psychotic break profound
Normal now anormal – chaos unloosed.
Year “out of order,” just hang the sign out;
Wait for repair – a screwed up year no doubt.

Horton heard a Who
Or Doo-wa-diddy see
One fish, two fish
Slipped onto a dish
For that Sam-I-am
That Sam-I-am
Who never ever liked
Green Eggs and Ham
Since 'twas too wet to go out
too cold to play ball
So, Sally and Sam and I
Just played jacks in the hall
While His Highness himself
The Vipper of Vip
Booked a most unconventional trip
Aboard a horse and wagon
And can you imagine
That it all happened on Mulberry Street...

A subject missing from Mother Goose
Nor found in the works of Dr. Suess
You wouldn't expect it
They'd surely reject it

~ So much exquisite history today,
That piques our curiosity to seek ...
The information midst our DNA,
Unloosed with but a swab inside our cheek ...
But some are secrets, best left ... to mystique. ~

Parable
I just want to come before you brother
And tell you a story
Expound on a moral glory
Lord let your word fit my mouth
Convey intended meaning
Making it plain
Christ unloosed the chains
That bind me down
Jesus found that He cared for all
Let me re tell the stories parable
The tree went forth and the olive tree said there are now our god and man
And the fig tree saidv reign over us
Sweetness be promoted over these trees
Ahh! Come reign with us
Come thou now and aniont me king
Put trust in my shadow if not let fire come out of the cedars
Have to stop worshipping the creation need to worship the creator
If upon reading this do you understand this the

What would I do without my dear friends on the Soup
When I need a pick-me-up, they're there to give me a boost
The love I feel each day
Shows me the loving way
To help me through when life becomes unloosed

I heard it from an anvil
the metal brookside churning
and fire brass inferno
that later took my silence inside a broken shadow
I heard it from an anvil
he spoke of words unweilding
like protozoa brooding
and elvin skin and tatoo freaks a smooching
paused from all the moods swings
to sway back forth my lewd crude oozing
tis the nose, let forth my conviction
as high notes poke a choke she goosed in
im fused in an entirely
perplexed with latex anamolies
that ruse my use of snugs unloosed
running passed the idlers of traffic
to make my stops in crests of the topless
oh dear to touch the moon how so without rockets
these chests that dropp mosh pits
developing my nocturnal hog fits
a pest with unrest that bests the rock lists
i send one note out to you
this is my pavement to mock this

English sonnet
I ponder him who pledged to me his troth.
Our marriage came to shreds with pressure wrought.
He saved each tangled ravel, wove new cloth,
resuming our design with errors naught.
Haphazard doubts occurred which caused some snarls
of jealous hate which anger loves to knot.
Distrust released, his flag of truce unfurls
his calculated plan of love's own plot
Sometimes our banner's hem still comes unloosed
though aging thoughts begrudge, repair we'll find.
Disease destroys and bodies come to roost.
Ere sleep descends, what happens to the mind?
His word has shielded ev'ry other plight.
I have no doubt our God will span that night.

Squalid thoughts,
Disguised as Dust Bunnies,
Lie dormant,
In a mind's un-swept corners,
Awaiting time and opportunity
To be unloosed from confinement,
By the tongue.
But never,
Will squalid thoughts,
Be ascertained hibernating,
In a beautiful mind.

the un-struck match, does darkness bring,,
the unfair world's a bitter thing,
the unloosed demon meets his match,
so poor, the former rich do sing...
when logic don't smoke the hash,
yes lassie, per alas,
i'm thinking,
its just a logic swing...
