Splintered Sunlight

Step into splintered sunlight
broken beams flash
across bare, silhouetted flesh.

Above
Father-Sun forever scintillates,
a deep and ancient ember,
giving ceaselessly to all
wanting nothing in return.

The trees, they dance
in verdant splendor,
leaning lazily, they sigh
with utter contentment.
Their leaves, a chorus
of flapping green,
each one moving to its own rhythm,
closely listening to the wind sing.

White stars illuminate my eyes
and echo through my soul.
Vibrations

Splintered Cycles

slamming
shut the door
again

reverberating
in my heart
again

splintering 
all my love
again

locking
the front door
again

opening
to my forgiveness
again

With Splintered Light

throughout
the night
while
flashing by
with
dazzling flight 
the
fireflies 
with
splintered light

Splintered Edges

I’ve written everything I’ve wrote
splintered edges, leaky boat
wrote and wrote and still there’s more
sweat stained, cracked but trusty oar
penciling in and out of shore
I’ve cursed the sun, welcomed the rain
beneath the bridge became the train
challenged the rapids of my mind
unraveled secrets still entwined
within the eddy, swirl and rush
of purging flight and endless fall
forever rainbows joyful

Splintered Beauty

Oh, Maple tree- planted, nursed as
as a tiny sapling fifty years ago,
you stood as a faithful guardian 
to shelter our front yard;
while we matured, you did so too.

Today, old treasured Maple tree-
as a warrior, you proudly stand,
with your solid trunk deeply gouged 
by fierce tornado winds-
yet, your strong roots still hold on.

The Splintered Door

The Splintered Door

She shed but one cold tear.
The splintered door slammed
shrieking on its twisted hinges-
aftermath of “loving’s” binges.

The tear hung over a life
squandered on hopeful lies.
Death’s whimper crept across her smile.
How had her independence turned servile?

This frozen tear became
a memoried amulet
protecting her form torments
she fled - yet can’t forget.

The tear contains the sounds
of footsteps in

I splintered into a thousand brittle glass
You brandished a bamboo rag
And with one sweep
Wiped out my remains
To impertinent winds

I awoke feeling completely broken
But you've kept some tiny cuts
And will never return it.

What can i do but endure
This constant world of hurt
Everytime my heart beats 
The cracks get even worse
I thought that i was healing 
But little did i know 
Nothing could prepare me for 
The stinging pain of my heart
Being torn once more

Dreams and a Splintered Heart

Memories play in my mind
faded black and blue
remembering mistakes
that I cannot undo
picking up the splinters
of this damaged heart
tired of trying to mend
what always falls apart
sinking broken dreams
of my yesterday
I can't hold on to things
that want to fly away
I'm trying to let go
of what's come to an end
hoping that maybe someday
these wounds will truly mend
