Splintered Edges

I’ve written everything I’ve wrote
splintered edges, leaky boat
wrote and wrote and still there’s more
sweat stained, cracked but trusty oar
penciling in and out of shore
I’ve cursed the sun, welcomed the rain
beneath the bridge became the train
challenged the rapids of my mind
unraveled secrets still entwined
within the eddy, swirl and rush
of purging flight and endless fall
forever rainbows joyful pall
enveloping both wit and pen
of poetry’s oft splintered whim

I love the happy cadence of this, and the lovely well thought-out end rhymes! Wow!
