Splintered Shield
My broken heart
is finally shattered.
All happiness amiss
Behind this splintered shield
Lies my fragile rose in bloom
Too afraid to let it die
I keep it hidden,
Safe in sadness,
Behind this splintered shield.
The sun and life may hurt it,
so I'll just keep it here.
