She awakened to a world she did not know
where fair maidens dress the world does show
their charms in unseemly, wanton pose
cast off their virtue ere their beauty glows

Reached for the coach had conveyed her there
Alas! Her fingers grasped but frightful air
Lay her down by virgin clearwater brook
Her reflection gasped, her once-sweet life she took...

We fool ourselves we’ll rise above our age

He Will Rise

Just a peek into the future
You'll find your hope a'waiting there
It's not just a secret or a story
Jesus is coming to show He cares
He died from the burden of our sins
He rose in faith hope and love
Of the promise of life yet to come
On that day He will rise, rise above

rise above

I will rise above.
Fly like a dove.
Peaceful and free.
Nesting in a tree.
Or in the breeze.
Ready to seize.
So full of love.
Just like me.
Make the world freeze.
As we rise above.

Dont let the hate consume your soul
Rise up and testify
Set aside your mind
And let your heart define

A simple love
My Brothers
My Sisters
We shall rise
Rise above

We gather strength
We stand and lead
Through the mirrors of time
We find belief

A simple love
My brother
My sister
We shall rise
Rise above

As we forge the fields
a battle won
As we pick up the pieces
The rising sun
Mystified with love and strength
We find another day

My Sons my Daughters
Mothers and Fathers
Sisters and Brothers
My Friends and Neighbor's
We stand
Stand unified
A strength found deep inside

A simple love
My Brothers
My Sisters
We shall rise
Rise above

Premium Member Prayers Rise Above

There are people in NC And other states proven to be abandoned from hurricane Helene

Now, Cat 5 Hurricane Milton is on the way to FL

Prayers rise above a threatening storm
where deadly wind spins ominous threats
To people, animals, property and land
It can't be stopped, people can only be saved
A challenging time it is, testing strength
An opportunity to help one another...
What will it be?
Will those in power ignore with heartless minimization?
As if they are invincible in their own powerful lives?
Well, prayers rise above them, far above their reach!
What happens now....for them, time will teach

Rise Above

As a kid, I roamed the vast expanse of the internet
Exploring, learning, connecting with others
Not realizing the danger lurking in the shadows
Of being groomed online by predators in disguise

Innocent and naïve, I fell into their trap
Their sweet words and promises of friendship and love
Leading me down a dark and dangerous path
Where trust was shattered and innocence lost

I was groomed online, a victim of deception
Manipulated and exploited for their own gain
But I refuse to let their darkness define me

I will not be a silent victim of their crimes,
Of their depravity and immorality.

Rise Above the Struggles

In the depths of darkness, a soul does dwell,
An 18-year-old girl, facing a battle so well,
Battling her demons, depression's cruel embrace,
Seeking peace in this chaotic place…

Study pressure weighs heavy on weary shoulders,
Dreams and ambitions feel like exploders!!
But within this struggle, a fire starts to grow,
Telling her to go with the flow..

Parents' expectations weigh heavy on the soul,
But remember, dear one, you are in control..

Career confusion casts its daunting spell,
Ambitions clash, creating a stormy swell,
Yet within the confusion, passion ignites,
A beacon of hope, shining so bright.

Sometimes Overthinking comes in the brain,
Just like storms comes in the rain…
But within this storm, a fire burns bright…
A spirit unyielding, ready to fight…

With a smile on her face, she takes on the fight,
Brightening the world with her infectious light…
So let her be an inspiration to us all,
To keep fighting, even when we feel small..

Rise above the struggles that try to define,
Don't Overthink baby.. Coz u always shine..
Believe in yourself coz you hold the key,
To unlock a future where you're truly free.

Rise Above the Pain By Er Haider Khan

Time ticks away, with each beat of the drum,
While thoughts of revenge, leave you feeling glum.
Hoping for justice, for what they've done wrong,
But all it does is, your heart string prolong.

Let go of the anger, that's holding you back,
Embrace the present, start a new track.
Forgiving is freeing, it opens the door,
To happiness and peace, you've been searching for.

Take control of your life, let go of the pain,
Focus on the future, love will come again.
And don't waste your time, on the ones who've hurt,
Just live in the moment, and let your heart flirt.

Rise Above

You may have scars that tell a tale
Of trauma faced, of battles won and failed
But it's not the pain that made you strong
It's the fight within that kept you going all along

Don't let the past define who you are
You are more than just a survivor, you're a shining star
Sometimes you don't get what you want
But trust that life has something better to flaunt

Take care of yourself, and your heart
Sometimes it's best to not care, to play your part
In healing, in loving, in finding your way
Don't be afraid to take a break, to rest and to play

Trauma didn't make you stronger, my dear
You did, with your courage, your resilience, your cheer
So hold your head up high, and let your light shine
For you are a warrior, a champion, a soul divine

Rise Above It All of My Mind

"I'm pleased that I have raised above the martyr who I am to many..."

Rise Above Your Own Past

RISE ABOVE YOUR OWN PAST

Never believe you're ABOVE
or BENEATH anybody;
Never feel EQUAL to anyone,
not even to yourself
(because equality is a cliché).
But keep a meek spirit.
Never think you're inferior
or superior to anyone.
Only be superior to your past.
Remember, you were down or out,
then you measure up to "yourself",
now you rise above your past.

Something's going on
I am not that strong
Been down too long

People walk away
Don't allow me to say
I can't live this way

Birth again
Born again
Enslaved
Misbehave
Died buried
Resurrected birth
Born again
Freed from sins

This was what was going on
I am now Mighty and strong
Shown up show up eternally

People stop and see the light
My witness shines so everbrite
I am now allowed to say
You too can rise above the clay

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr 2020

Revenge Is Bittersweet

I’ve been dragged through mud
Pushed around all my life
Beaten and battered
Without a fair chance to fight
Nobody cared, nobody cried
No one gave a if I lived or died

Laying in the gutter, face up to the sky
No words to utter, just wondering why

Someday, somehow, I shall prevail
Spit in the face of those who cherished my fail
I’ll come down upon you like a hammer on a nail
There will be no debris to pick up after the gale

Revenge is bittersweet
Look at me relish at your defeat
Don’t you tell me to be discrete
‘cause Revenge is bittersweet

"Reality is something you rise above."

                                         -Liza Minelli

RISE ABOVE

Judy, darling, teach me to pray -
your arms wrapped around my teeth,
so white, pristine. . .

I’ll take my bows,
my arms maneuvered by strings,
my waist meticulously child-size, bends.

My mother was ten feet tall...
My mother ain’t nothing at all...
except her majestic voice,
her time on a barber-chair stage.

Liza, darling, teach me to pray -
my dreams of playing all day.
Popping pills is our skill -
it kills the time,
helps me rewind.

Oh sweet child of mine,
lay your head on my lap -
face the audience.
now, sing...

Liza marries the chair,
snaps her garter on,
personality charms her velvet hat,
spreads wide her sexy black boots
and belts out a tune

as she floats, far away from reality…
