Pillows of clouds hid behind the black mountain
After showers fell like a light flowing fountain.
As the sun comes so unexpectedly today.
Air is mild enough for blissful thoughts to play.
Fall brings a day like spring without the flowers.
Just winter birds telling stories in tunes after showers.
Songs put the mind at ease with the rush of uncertainty
About those in power who are trying to appease.
The country waits to see what will come our way
With hope for unity so that we can together stay
Afloat in these turbulent waters we now face.
Waves out of a storm from some other kind of place.
Unlike anything we may have ever seen before.
We can rise above this because, we can be so much more.

I Rise Above

And it flew higher,
Above the reach of arms which bind,
And logic which Past defined,
It flew higher,
Above the reach of stones of persectution,
And above all unkept resolution,
It pushed higher,
Past the thoughts of those who said It'd never be,
And success would never see,
And it flew until it reached the darkness in which
itself designed,
A blackness of the sullen mind,
And it said,
"I will rise above"...

I rise above you
When you look in contempt
            I'll smile at you
When you will fight my spirit
            I give in to you
You torture my one person
            I fragment on you
You will not capture my soul
            only this husk
I don't need the mortal part
            you think you have
The day you find me in your claws
            I will be free

And I will look down on you
            with sorrow in my heart
            pity in my eyes
a friendly word on my lips
            a gentle caress

I rise above you

Rise Above It

Some people will always call you this
and that, and refer to you in metaphors
which can break the vocabulary
wardrobe.
They will say how you'll never be loved
or get love, rise up, succeed, dream,
find happiness, be normal....
These words will seep so deeply
in you, making you believe that their
color is your color.
You actually become what they say...
My dear,
that's not how the real world actually works.
Some people will love you,
and others hate you. This means someone
somewhere really loves, adores, and admires you
for who you really are.
Throw away the anti-depressants, 24 hour sad soap
opera routine, sad songs, suicidal thoughts.....and anything
weighing you down.
Feel your inner power and sense of belonging,
and levitate in Bliss,
rising above it; the world.

Rise Above Before the Fall

Rise above before the fall

You look beneath each unturned stone
where four leaf clover shrouds the path
To wonder, thinking all alone,
what brought about this aftermath

As daisies clamor ‘bout the field
and dragonflies abandon hope
When orchards passing off their yield
will find it hard to even cope

Lest not a day of future themes
reflect this distance you now feel
For merely but a stack of dreams,
horizon’s light may soon reveal

So take this orchid from its stem,
a small reminder of the past
And question not who follows them
but cherish every foot step cast

Come hold your head up to the sky
as banners wave and bluebirds sing
Extend your hand to passers by,
much more than just a thoughtful thing

For life is but a fleeting friend
not here for very long at all
It’s up to you to just transcend
and rise above before the fall

RISE ABOVE

Judy, darling, teach me to pray -
your arms wrapped around my teeth,
so white, pristine. . .

I’ll take my bows,
my arms maneuvered by strings,
my waist meticulously child-size, bends.

My mother was ten feet tall...
My mother ain’t nothing at all...
except her majestic voice,
her time on a barber-chair stage.

Liza, darling, teach me to pray -
my dreams of playing all day.
Popping pills is our skill -
it kills the time,
helps me rewind.

Oh sweet child of mine,
lay your head on my lap -
face the audience.
now, sing...

Liza marries the chair,
snaps her garter on,
personality charms her velvet hat,
spreads wide her sexy black boots
and belts out a tune

as she floats, far away from reality…

Premium Member Prayers Rise Above

There are people in NC And other states proven to be abandoned from hurricane Helene

Now, Cat 5 Hurricane Milton is on the way to FL

Prayers rise above a threatening storm
where deadly wind spins ominous threats
To people, animals, property and land
It can't be stopped, people can only be saved
A challenging time it is, testing strength
An opportunity to help one another...
What will it be?
Will those in power ignore with heartless minimization?
As if they are invincible in their own powerful lives?
Well, prayers rise above them, far above their reach!
What happens now....for them, time will teach

Dark demons tore her from within
Pulling her downward into spiraling depression
Shadows of memories long ago
That crumbled her to cracked pieces
Everyone was talking about her
Or so it seemed
She avoided greetings and conversations
With anyone outside
This deep abyss shoved her further down
With whom could she be 'she'?
Would nobody understand her?
Irritated outside, showing emotional outbursts,
There were times when she would cry
Without any reason
Her tears would not stop
Not at her wish
She felt completely out of command
Her swinging moods made her desperate
No meds could help her then
To sleep
To that sweet time of blissful forgetfulness
She wrestled with unseen forces
Creeping in her mind
Weeping in her mind
Doubts doubled with despair

But people around her cared
Prayed for her
Loved her during the darkest times
And she held on to life
If only to please her family and friends
If only because she knew suicide was wrong
That life was God's gift...
His breath was within her
How could she snuff it out?
And so she held on to hope
And faith
And God
His Word reassured her
Of His everlasting love
His people helped her realise
His love for her
Once, hungry for a hundred things
Now she understood that she needed
Just One
The One who died for her
The Only One who could set her free

And so she cried to Him
In her blackest hour
He pulled her out of the abysmal pit
And she lives still
To tell of her trials
Holding on to that rope of hope
In eternal salvation
When she'll rise above the clouds
To be with her Creator
When she'll be completely free
From the fetters of her mind...

Wipe away acrid tears of yesterday,
unchain the unforgiving guilt inside.
Listen, for a moment, to what I say.
You must, to yourself, open your heart wide.
Allow His lasting love to be your guide,
flounder not in the sea of broken souls.
Rise above. Feel His love. Heal, become whole.

Rise Above It

With sort of papers bend
I can see it THE END
Though trembling unseen
Like forgot everything it seems

Heart and pen are at sync
Trying to overcome those obstacles
Struggling that horrible fight
As if fear had hold me tight

It's all broken ,there is rage
And confine in tag of failure cage
Yeah I am lost in maze
Fallen with every page

Even life is difficult to cope
But I won't lose it THAT HOPE
I'll aim straight for my success
Failing won't stop me from rising above

I will try try until I succeed
Won't let this failure breed
I 'll root it our like a weed
Then blossom with efforts in new seed

A sheet of paper can't decide my future after all
One never becomes failure with one fall
Summoning knowledge and peace
That's my very aim for top to cease

I shall rise above it,I will rise above it

I Will Rise, Above Heart's Weakness
(I Will Rise Above -MY - Heart's Weakness)

Shall I bend, to your massive will
break chains of my aching heart
Or with infinite time wait until
life gives love's sweeter restart

Shall I cry, into your bad heart
show pain dripping in blood
Or wait until we dare race apart
in a deluge waiting to flood

Should I weep, for your mistakes
eat truth to save your soul
Beg forever even more hard retakes
and love burning like a coal

Should I grovel, in abject shame
a man dying in his despair
A fool uncaring of his family name
begging again without a care

I will look, again into dark eyes
fight blackness that stares back
Choose to forget your very bad lies
seek deeper love that you lack

I will rise, above heart's weakness
cut out my longing love needs
Forget your sexy body and sleekness
which my dream forever feeds

Rise Above Rape

Can I possibly rise,
Rise above my rape?
When all I hear are cries,
And I feel I need to escape.

My mind has resigned,
Anxiety and PTSD is all that's left,
All my feelings are confined,
Its like I've been a victim of theft.

Theft that robbed my life,
And did so by surprise,
Always on guard,
It's now time to let go.

To let go of the hate,
And to let go of the guilt,
So I'm starting with a new plate,
Like a patchwork quilt.

To bring back hope,
And to alleviate pain,
So I don't focus on the slope,
Just focus on my campaign.

My life is not what it used to be,
It somehow opened a gate,
And I can at last say I'm free,
Free to be able to rise above rape.

Rise Above It

We who have made a lot of struggle in this lovely garden
And have seen how a river can flow on like a jingling girl
Overlooking the muck and mud accompanying the stream
That tries to arrest the dream, full of beautiful movement
Know very well how to rise above the holy terror

We who have walked a long path amidst the colorful strife
And have seen in life the sparkle of sun in its ups and downs
Avoiding the black sheep and others of the ilk horsing around
With a view to mar the music to ensure the sun is suppressed
Know very well how to ride the waves despite the irritants.

We who have seen a great deal in our life of fair and foul
And have seen the blue sky dance on the breeze in drizzle
Ignoring the carbon and sulfur busy at polluting the air
That seeks to rob the rhythm of its purple romance
Know very well how to keep away from the bad apples

We who have seen how the raindrops make love in the boughs
Can of course rise above those who prefer living out of line

the world can be a - s c a r y- place- full of "nasty" people
braggarts I N S T I G A T O R S and fair weather friends (that hurts the most)
oh the lies GOSSIP insults and judgement and m e a n words spoken
the hate falls on the soul like a thousand DAGGERS and the heart "bleeds"
w e e p i n g with doubt and insecurity like w a v e s on the ocean sweeping over
oh the pain- then from deep within a mighty STRENGTH is rising and a p o w e r
and I remember . . . I've been to the bottom from a pit of "NOTHINGNESS"
I have CRAWLED on my hands and knees it seems how "many" times I forget
so these n e g a t i v e CRUEL people can "never" touch me with their evil
inside me dwells a strength t h e y could never FATHOM or imagine
and I brush them off and RISE above and their daggers F A L L away pointless
so- d e a r reader do "not" listen do "not" bother i g n o r e all nasty people-

Rise Above It

The world exists in constant flux,
a yin and yang affair;
at times, the sun shines warm and bright
and sometimes rain brings dark.
And like the weather comes and goes
in forms, some good some bad,
just like a yin and yang,
some people in our lives become
a plus or minus in our heart
with constant flux begun.

And we must rise above the bad
for sure, we will know that
our sun will show its face again
within a new-born dawn.
And as the rain may challenge us
to stay indoors, change plans
with book or task at hand,
we rise above it, fill our hours
with happy things that cheer us on;
always, our glass half-full.

Some turn from us, we know not why
which makes us wonder, guess...
But negativity removes
what positive spreads out.
So keep it wrapped 'round like a shawl
and dance in happiness...
and we can make it right.
Ignore those things that pull us down;
lift up our arms, and hum a tune.
Just smile, and rise above.
