Premium Member I’ve Got 700 Pounds of Love to Shed

I’ve got 700 pounds of love to shed.
What’s that? You didn’t hear me?
Listen closely to what I’ve said:
I’ve got 700 pounds of love to shed.

Watch the way I move,
Listen to my words.
Feel the even flowit comes and goes,
Teaching me what I need to know.

What form will this love take?
How will it shape me as it breaks?
Show me the mold, the path to be,
The love I’ve kept is setting me free.

And one day, I’ll come to you and say:
“I’ve got 700 pounds of love to shed.”
Watch it fade, watch it flow
A lighter me, ready to grow.

You better come catch this love if you can,
Because it’s moving fast,
And I’ve got a plan.

Premium Member radio phone-in, how are you saving money at xmas - calls cost 3 pounds 50 per minute

they've also got a guest on
who suffers from, the inability to burp

he sounds so bored presenting
the thing

as i listen, i notice
the lid of the jar of the piccalilli

it states this condiment is,
'the life and soul of the pantry'

on google i look up images
of 19th century pantries

my wife comes in and asks what i
would like for xmas

i want a pantry

500 Pounds of Pasta

Along a Jersey creek, somebody
Made a crazy find –
500 pounds of pasta had been
Somehow left behind.

Whoever dumped the noodles
(Mainly elbows and spaghetti)
Isn’t known, but word got out and
There was lots of wordplay ready.

“Pastabilities were endless,”
Was reported and, as well,
“The perpetrators need
The penne-tentiary,” I heard tell.

My favorite was the mastermind
Whose capture is the aim.
Though it might be just an alias,
Al Dente is his name.

Premium Member The Pounds They Found Nursery Rhyme

Nothing was found when they let out the two hounds
They went running after her charging and chasing
frothing abound
Like a ball rolling on the ground was Ms. Round
She made a loud sound and was caught and bound
She kicked the gravel and began to unravel all wound
And as she frowned her hat fell off her crown
Out tumbled lots of pounds that built quite a mound
Made to sit out all day under a very hot sun
As she roasted in the heat and browned
Crying and screaming out loud, in her tears she
drowned!

Premium Member My Friend Lost a Hundred Pounds

My friend has lost a hundred pounds
She is enthusiastic about water, exercise and vegetables.
We should go swimming, she said.
All I want to do is watch TV and sit in my recliner

She calls me to give me advice.
Are you taking vitamins?
How much exercise do you get?
Let’s get healthy. Do you want to go on a hike?

I click her off the phone and text her.
Not today, I am busy, I lie.
It is easier to lie in a text than in person.
She shows up an hour later with an extra swimming suit.

Not today, I tell her.
Not tomorrow
And not the next day.
She bikes off, to enjoy her weight loss alone.

Premium Member My Heart Pounds Faster

My heart pounds faster every second
~ Her lips ablaze, treasures beckon

Eighty-Eight Pounds of Plastic

Eighty-eight pounds of plastic
Have been found inside a whale.
That’s quite a lot despite the fact
Of its enormous scale.

It’s not enough to worry over
Straws we use in drinks,
For what about the other stuff
That’s ocean-tossed and sinks?

Environmental warnings
Do not resonate with most.
For future generations, then,
Some creatures will be toast.

To think of whales’ extinction
Should make all our spirits sag
But especially if caused by
Each discarded plastic bag.

Premium Member Pounds, Pounds, Pounds

Pounds! Pounds! Pounds!

Step on scale, gotta lose weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Pound in new habits, eat right, run more
Run round, round, round.

Can’t wait, step on scale,
Sure I’ve lost weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.

Step on scale, gained weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Pound in new habits, eat right less, run more, more.
Run round, round, round, round.

Can’t wait, step on scale,
Sure, I’ve lost weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds

Step on scale, gained weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Pound in new habits,
Hammer in hand, Hammer to scale,
Pounds! Pounds! Pounds! …

Pinned Down By a Million Pounds

Erratic behavior is on the verge
There's going to be a dramatic surge
Morality is at an all-time low
In this crazy twisted show, don't ya know
The ups and the downs with the crazy clowns
Being Pinned down by a million pounds
Living like a scrounge in a crazy town
Always Bound by that evil sound
Yelling at the sky and asking why
Anger is an issue that we can't deny
The shady characters in the dark
Sneaking up on you like a shark
Human parts being picked apart
Taking a left instead of going straight
Going to fast need to hit the brakes
One bad mistake is all it takes
Darkness is coming at an alarming rate

Premium Member How I Came To Lose Thirty Pounds

Back in 2003, a fellow teacher came up to me
A skinny fellow, all angles and elbows and knees
       He stared at my stomach
He stared me in the eye
He poked me in the stomach
              And cried:
      "My friend, you are FAT!"...
      Then walked away with a
             Tip of his hat
And I never saw him again after that

Premium Member Minus Fifty Pounds

Looked in the mirror and what did I see
A very svelte image but only half of me
Minus fifty pounds
Joyous happy sounds
Emanate from my bottom as I run for a pee

Happiness Equals 20 Pounds

happiness equals 20 pounds
this added weight is getting me down
once stick thin but alas, no more
putting it on was an easy chore

don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching
but for younger days, I am wishing
way back then I was much leaner
now flab is part of my demeanor

going to boot camp, eating low carb
so I can wear a lot less garb
losing ten would be just great
listing everything that I ate

the older I get, the harder it seems
to shed these pounds is not a dream
working hard, making calories count
it will fall off I have no doubt

up and down the spinner goes
maybe the scale is a lie, who knows
but I'll get fit and stay that way
and still keep happiness in each day

8 Pounds 4 Ounces

8 pounds 4 ounces cesarean ain't taking no chances
been hoping for change I hope it lasts and
know there'll be hard days but sunny 80 percent chances
there's been so much rain you'd think I was doin rain dances
but I fought through the pain and gave love chances
she has 1 last name cus I believe in love
Precious in the middle cus she sent her down to us
sealed with a kiss nothing less than perfect
all I need to get by anything for you I'll do it
you're the best thing that's every happen to me and I'll prove it

When a Heart Pounds

Cinderella dreams across yellow brick roads
Creating Prince Charming out of simple silly toads
We play hopscotch, jump rope and other little games
Trying to produce magic and a feeling quite the same
Dancing through life with rose colored eyes
Wishing and hoping love doesn't float on by
Finding the one that just makes us smile
Holding on tight, hearts entwined for awhile
Happiness comes to those who are blessed
Sharing our all when two lips are pressed
Suns set, moons rise but one thing still remains
When fairy tales meet blood pumps in our veins
Whether young or old we seek out love to surround
There's no greater feeling when a heart in love pounds
