Asher Vale – Poet of Transformation and Truth
I am Asher Vale, a poet shaped by struggle, resilience, and reinvention. My poetry is my voice—an outlet for raw emotions, deep reflection, and the truths I’ve unearthed on my journey of self-discovery.
I wasn’t always a poet. My words first found me during a time of great change—when I was reclaiming my life, my body, and my mind. Weighing 700 lbs a little over a year ago, I embarked on a mission not just to lose weight, but to transform my entire existence. I discovered that poetry, like fasting and movement, is a form of release—an alchemy of pain into power, chaos into rhythm.
My writing is free verse, unrestricted, unfiltered, much like the journey I walk. Inspired by everything from personal struggles to nature’s quiet wisdom, I weave metaphors that challenge, invite, and awaken. The themes in my work reflect the human experience—rage, love, loss, hope, and the battle against the invisible forces within and around us.
My Vision & Purpose
1.Refining my craft—studying rhythm, memorization, and delivery to master the art of spoken poetry.
2.Publishing my work—eventually compiling my poetry into a book that speaks to those in transformation.
3.Taking my words beyond the page—building a presence as a spoken word poet, performer, and storyteller.
4. Inspiring others—whether through my poetry, my weight loss journey, or my fight against personal demons.
My poetry is a call to action, a testament to survival, and a mirror for those who have struggled to find their voice. This is just the beginning.
