Best Pounds Poems
Three pounds a month they
ask, save the Tiger, save the
Panda, save the Jaguar, save
the rain forest.
Three pounds a month for
the children's hospital and
for the save the children's
fund, the RSPCA, RSPB,
Cancer research, just, only
three pounds a month, now
my pockets are empty with
all these donations.
Our governments, they also
donate, mainly to the
FAT CAT SOCIETY
yes those poor sods who
caused the majority of man's
suffering with their greed and
avarice.
Please just three pound a
month for the Daniel
Cheesemans poetry fund.
Cinderella dreams across yellow brick roads
Creating Prince Charming out of simple silly toads
We play hopscotch, jump rope and other little games
Trying to produce magic and a feeling quite the same
Dancing through life with rose colored eyes
Wishing and hoping love doesn't float on by
Finding the one that just makes us smile
Holding on tight, hearts entwined for awhile
Happiness comes to those who are blessed
Sharing our all when two lips are pressed
Suns set, moons rise but one thing still remains
When fairy tales meet blood pumps in our veins
Whether young or old we seek out love to surround
There's no greater feeling when a heart in love pounds
AMIDST POUNDS OF FORCE and FURY
Conscious cold clouds sweeping, killing softly the suns bright,
romancing evocatively with the winds, aghast it blows! Blows!
Gray to black are the skies shadows. Shafts of light longer,
they tantalize in between blows joined clear by a decibel bang!
Frightened golden grains for harvest, helpless! They bend down
and so are the piteous bushes, unashamed, waving their arms
as if crying out for immediate rescue but no one is there...
Drops to dagger liquid sequins fall heavily unto them nonstop.
Amidst pounds of force and fury from the natural forces,
I, glad to be cocooned by the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest.
Wrapped tight to his arms, my heart is soaking with contentment,
his drizzling caresses flood my nerves, I am all giddy inside...

Along a Jersey creek, somebody
Made a crazy find –
500 pounds of pasta had been
Somehow left behind.
Whoever dumped the noodles
(Mainly elbows and spaghetti)
Isn’t known, but word got out and
There was lots of wordplay ready.
“Pastabilities were endless,”
Was reported and, as well,
“The perpetrators need
The penne-tentiary,” I heard tell.
My favorite was the mastermind
Whose capture is the aim.
Though it might be just an alias,
Al Dente is his name.
Pounds! Pounds! Pounds!
Step on scale, gotta lose weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Pound in new habits, eat right, run more
Run round, round, round.
Can’t wait, step on scale,
Sure I’ve lost weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Step on scale, gained weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Pound in new habits, eat right less, run more, more.
Run round, round, round, round.
Can’t wait, step on scale,
Sure, I’ve lost weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds
Step on scale, gained weight,
Pounds, pounds, pounds.
Pound in new habits,
Hammer in hand, Hammer to scale,
Pounds! Pounds! Pounds! …

Ten pounds, ten pounds, on my bottom!
Good grief, good grief!, How fast I got'em!
I must, I must! Lose this weight!
Or soon obesity will be my fate!
One pound, one pound! I'll start real slow..
One pound gone, nine more to go!
Two pounds, Two pounds! I'm on a roll!
To look like Twiggy is my goal!
Three pounds, Three pounds! Not so bad!
But oh those doughnuts make me sad!
Four pounds, four pounds! I can do it!
This pound was tough, I almost blew it!
Five pounds, five pounds, half way there!
No more elevators, take the stair!
Six pounds, six pounds! Its going slow!
No more cookies? Another terrible blow!
Seven pounds, And then big number eight!
Beginning to think cucumbers are just great!
Nine pounds , nine pounds ! Took forever!
Not going through this again, Never, Never!
Ten pounds lost at last! But not fair, not fair!
Why doI still look like a giant pear!
Eighty-eight pounds of plastic
Have been found inside a whale.
That’s quite a lot despite the fact
Of its enormous scale.
It’s not enough to worry over
Straws we use in drinks,
For what about the other stuff
That’s ocean-tossed and sinks?
Environmental warnings
Do not resonate with most.
For future generations, then,
Some creatures will be toast.
To think of whales’ extinction
Should make all our spirits sag
But especially if caused by
Each discarded plastic bag.
My heart pounds, my heart loves, my heart shakes
When love slept, **May 25th my love awaked
“I love you” could be said in a hundred ways
But me showing you could last a thousand days
If actions speak louder than words
Then the genius of our love is a problem for all the nerds
Your eyes may not lie upon me at all times of your day
But in your heart, permanently and always, I’ll stay
My heart pounds, my heart loves, my heart shakes
No one can see how you saw, like how you love
Or even kiss like you kiss, hug like you hug
You hate camping, but our hearts just went, Oh well!
Snuggling together with a fire hot as hell
Let the moon shine forever with stories to tell
I love you, you love me, and we love each other and the key
Of life and the world to see, your heart stays strong while you’re with me
My heart pounds, my heart loves, my heart shakes
BANG! BANG! POUND! POUND! Loves goes back and forth
If your sunset comes first, I’ll be filled with remorse
Wishing we sat together, (sigh)… but life takes its course
When my heart pounds in need for that extra breath
The cells of your heart recuperate my natural health
My heart vibrates extra hard, so let that organ quake
My heart pounds, loves, all at the same time while this organ shakes.
** if you're going to copy, add you anniversary date
Nothing was found when they let out the two hounds
They went running after her charging and chasing
frothing abound
Like a ball rolling on the ground was Ms. Round
She made a loud sound and was caught and bound
She kicked the gravel and began to unravel all wound
And as she frowned her hat fell off her crown
Out tumbled lots of pounds that built quite a mound
Made to sit out all day under a very hot sun
As she roasted in the heat and browned
Crying and screaming out loud, in her tears she
drowned!

Generation CLASS
Time is showing on our ASS
Bulging hips and aching knee caps
God doesn't hand out an "Eternal Youth" free PASS
Dear ME
The flabs are plain to SEE
I guess we're on our way now
To our advancing DESTINY
It is noticable by any MEANS
Can no longer fit in those sexy Levi JEANs
What do I do when I have to SIT-
and those seam lines start to embarassingly SPLIT?
Women no longer FLIRT
and I can't bend over
to peer under their SKIRT
It is no good to swear and COMPLAIN
All I'll end up with is a brown smelly STAIN
As crazy as this really sounds
Our Generation(and Myself)
ARE PUTTING ON THOSE POUNDS!!
I close my eyes so i dont see
The color red for hungry love
The color blue for mysterious love
The color black for deep love
The color white for young love
I open my eyes so i dont see
The color red for dangerous love
The color blue for unaccessible love
The color black for fragile love
The color white for angry love
I'd rather keep my eyes closed
But i want to open them and not fear!!!!
My frustration with my weight abounds.
I am trying to lose twenty pounds.
I want to do it here
during this brand new year.
I know all of you have heard these sounds.
Erratic behavior is on the verge
There's going to be a dramatic surge
Morality is at an all-time low
In this crazy twisted show, don't ya know
The ups and the downs with the crazy clowns
Being Pinned down by a million pounds
Living like a scrounge in a crazy town
Always Bound by that evil sound
Yelling at the sky and asking why
Anger is an issue that we can't deny
The shady characters in the dark
Sneaking up on you like a shark
Human parts being picked apart
Taking a left instead of going straight
Going to fast need to hit the brakes
One bad mistake is all it takes
Darkness is coming at an alarming rate
When a man has a pound,
he grovels on the ground.
If he gets two,
he searches for gals to woo.
when he has three,
he goes on a spending spree.
when he has four pounds,
he gets naughty by leaps and bounds.
When he gets to five
thinks he's got more than a life
when he gets six
he looks for ladies to fix.
On getting to seven,
he thinks he's in heaven.
Finding himself at eight,
he uses ladies as his bait.
Now, holla! he's got nine pounds,
he's sniffing around for more, like hounds.
Yikes, he gets to ten;
he's like a lion, fat in its den.
Now, add an extra one
and he's looking for extra fun.
Make it twelve, and then
he thinks he's got nothing to learn!
happiness equals 20 pounds
this added weight is getting me down
once stick thin but alas, no more
putting it on was an easy chore
don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching
but for younger days, I am wishing
way back then I was much leaner
now flab is part of my demeanor
going to boot camp, eating low carb
so I can wear a lot less garb
losing ten would be just great
listing everything that I ate
the older I get, the harder it seems
to shed these pounds is not a dream
working hard, making calories count
it will fall off I have no doubt
up and down the spinner goes
maybe the scale is a lie, who knows
but I'll get fit and stay that way
and still keep happiness in each day
