How steady the merciless raindrop falls,
Could they be the fragments of my soul?
Wept from the mournful clouds, my mind.
Watering the diseased flowers, my body.
Yet my heart lingers, in the void of life,
No passenger walking by the sidewalk,
Can ease the fractured throne of love,
No love for life, no life for hope, no beats,
Why should a man overdo his stay?

My body's not a stone, unyielding and cold
Nor is it wood, unfeeling, and old
It's flesh and blood, with needs that must be met
Rest and relaxation, to rejuvenate and reset
Don't be a slave to labor, toiling ceaselessly
For when you're gone, your efforts will be but a memory
Those you've worked for, will call you a fool, in death
For neglecting your own needs, and sacrificing your last breath
Find solace in leisure, and joy in life's delight
Savor the fruits of your labor, before the darkness of night
Take a sip of wine, let music move your soul
Dance and merry, let your spirit be made whole
Don't hoard treasures, you'll never live to enjoy
Be moderate, and decisive, let wisdom be your employ
Let go of hatred, and malice, for they'll bring you pain
And lead to heart attacks, and a life of regret and strain
Life's short, enjoy it, while you may
Do good, create impact, but don't overdo, come what may
Consider your health, and your maker, in all you do
For a life of balance, is a life that's true.

She threw the best birthday party at eighty-three.
With a hip hip hooray and a whimsical whee…
We could barely get tickets, everyone was there.
She was dancing the watusi in her pink underwear.
Don’t sweat the small stuff, she said, girly girl!
Her hair was dampish, and her legs were a swirl.
Aren’t you afraid you will overdo? I asked Goo.
She laughed until her neck almost broke in two.
I jumped into the fray and danced with two old men.
She is really something! Said the old one, named Hem.
I have known her since elementary, and she is a peach!
I did not have to tell him she was way out of his reach.

When you were paid to recite a script,
do it well, but don't overdo what you were paid to do.
When you hate someone for a pay, just do it,
but don't take it too seriously.
Remember, there were others who came before you
and there are others who will come after you.
Don't do their job at once,
leave something for them to do.
Bad things they tell you may not be true,
find time to know the real truth.
But most of all, find a real job
Where you don't need to put down someone for a pay.

All we needed now was a boy named Sue
a ghost came along with a big boo hoo
He could not find his shadow said cousin Piggy Pooh

this was told by a cat chasing Things one and two
we all ended up in a cottage next to a witch’s flue
someone asked when is the old hag making up the brew?
I had to run back to town for some Pennsicola blue
when I got back I saw the toe of a butterfly’s shoe
a mouse was trying to get out of the sticky green goo
he said “I never wanted to be part of this beefy stew!”
a beat cop came by looking for the hag named Mrs. LaDoo.
He saiid please tell her the gargoyles are fighting in the slew.

Little is less than a lot
And most is not a few
I need a handle on this
So I know what to do
When measuring more
Into my favorite recipe
For a palmful is okay
Measuring for me …
Then come the metrics
Confusing me more
I cannot read labels
In the grocery store
I know about ounces
Milligrams are strange
And what is a liter
I cannot exchange
Guess I’ll stop cooking
Lest I overdo the salt
Eating at a restaurant
Then, it’s their fault.

Can't get time back
Regardless if I tip my hat
Going down a different path
I'll leave it at that
No matter if it's been a rotten day
They always got a lot to say
Then towards god they pray
I go my own way and walk away
I overdo it at times I gotta pay
The process is drawn out or occurs andale`
With a quickness
Spreading like a sickness
Always trying to stick their nose in my business
You've no idea, because for you everyday is Christmas
One wrong move, you write me up and give me tickets
Even though you were the only witness
I don't need anyone's forgiveness
Listen, I want to hear the sound of crickets
Own a home and land with a fence made of pickets
Another stupid verbal assault
Trying to make it seem like I'm all at fault
I take it with a grain of salt
Then continue on, such matters can't cause me to halt
As I travel across the asphalt
At night often drinking liquor with or without Malt
He bluffs and she sucks
All these cheap f***s
So surprised when I speak up
It's been ongoing for more than three months

If caution is the side on which
You are supposed to err,
It’s possible to overdo it,
So you should beware.
It may be better letting time
Or nature take its course
And then you wouldn’t suffer from
Annoyance or remorse.
There is a line to draw between
What’s prudent and what’s dumb,
But sometimes fear kicks in and makes
It easy to succumb.

Try always, to live your values, decorum
Yet, what shall one do? Use BLOCK!

So play to see, as guest, good sport
Be Wise, but more, Be A Good Sport. The social - media editors overdo little problems ... I understand the tough balancing act. Just had these thoughts 1-2 years ago, when I played almost daily (CandyCrush & online chess).

Let's go play on a fool's holiday
spending all the money we never saved
Live for now cause tomorrows far away
having a blast on a fool's holiday
Champagne breakfast in a five star hotel
rolling the dice for casino thrills
Cruising the Seine on a Paris eve
caviar and Kobe beef we feast
Tropical beaches to get us a tan
jet set life style without a plan
Burn those credit cards charge charge Charge!
fool's holiday living ever so large
And when those bills catch us coming overdo
what can they take when we got little and few
Bankruptcy court and seven years no credit line
but damn did we have one hell of a time
Let's go play on a fool's holiday
spending all the money we never did save
Live for now cause tomorrows far away
having a blast, too bad it can't last, fool's holiday.

I’m in a salt and pepper dive called Magdalena’s Den of Sin,
Long overdo for dry dock, with my keel hogged out of line.
I’ve just enough good cheer to ring a single jingle bell.
Outside of that, the climate on the weather deck is fine.
I've got my ducks lined up, soon I’ll be shooting them down
So that I’m ready when those saints come marching in.
I’ll use a few smooth maneuvers to raid the barmaid’s port
In this sailor’s house of worship, Magdalena’s Den of Sin.

Kittens in purple, pink, red, yellow and blue
Calicos, tabbies, Manx and Siamese too.
Sitting on brooms with witches in every hue,
I reach for my paints, creativity long overdue.
A serious artist who lives in her woo-woo,
New brushes are here, which is a huge coup.
I give my pirate queen a darling new hair up do.
Some may think my art is a bit of frou-frou.
Whimsy I seem to enthusiastically and often overdo,
It’s loved by my friend Amanda Mary Sue Lou.
I add generous dollops of silver and gold glitter glue.
Glad that I found this pastime, my darling, aren’t you?

Come closer, dearie, and let me tell you
About a cleansing concept, I know that is true
It revitalizes and freshens your likeability too
A concept that starts with a clean slate overdo,
You can start all sparkly and dazzling, giving a coo.
A resounding theme which is clearly the opposite of boo hoo
We are all starting with a diamond fresh page with no goo.
A clean white pristine canvas. Of course, the concept is new.
A happy fresh start, clean, and joyful, a do-over for you!

Things are different this year,
Family is closer than last year.
Shopping is like never before,
Christmas joy abides within us.
It’s not about physical presents,
Cherish your loved ones’ presence.
Looking for gifts may seem tougher,
Just have fun with it don’t overdo it.
This has been a year for reflection,
Our way of life has changed direction.
It may not feel like it’s really near,
Christmas season is finally here.
Don’t allow the current condition,
Drain the joy of holiday traditions.
Play that joyous holiday music,
It’s time to be merry and cheer.

Learning new types of poetry
Imagination gets to rejuvenate
Fueling my dendrite highway
Enthusiasm personified so thank you
Life as I know it
Has made me a poet
I can often show it
But sometimes I blow it
Simple way of life
Poems come to me in dreams
This is no secret
Parading in my twilight zone
Very often in a poem
Learning new poetry types is fun.
As I bask in the warm summer sun.
Tanka is new
Learning long overdo
Now my friends, I really must run….
