Hot Day In July

A hot day in July

He stood in the shade of the awnings of a shop
closed for lunch, the street was nakedly empty
no breeze disturbed the fine sand of time.

A cat under a car was watching him intently
perhaps the cat’s owner was the shopkeeper
then a moggy doesn’t think it is.

Only two living things in the side street existed
he beckoned towards the feline that got up
jumped over a fence, disappeared from view.

The man sensed a scary chasm of loneliness
the sun shifted and took, the shade away, nothing
for it, he needed a drink.

A Morning Moment

A morning moment

The owner of a black cat
Sits on a chair by the open door, on the shady side of the road
Reading yesterday’s paper.
The moggy opens its eyes they are like a creamy zabaglione
When I walk past.
The feline sees me then closes its eyes again.
The owner of the cat gets up with tail erect
Marches into the house
The door closes
The man starts up his scooter drive off in a haze of sunlight.

Cats

Cats
We are looking
after a cat
it is white and yellowish.
I feed it and clean
 the litter box.
The catwalks around mewing
and shedding hair
on sofas and beds.
I hate the ing cat it is
not friendly, sometimes the cat
go on the veranda on
the seventh floor
and it isn`t falling down.
I like a dog can bond with it
take it for a walk and they will not
hide in empty boxes
or in your cupboard.
The lady ‘cat owner
will come and pick up the moggy
her little wonder
today and it will not be missed.

The Mouser

The Mouser

I friend of mine has an old moggy she says
help her to write successful books about suburban life,
big gardens and flowers; envious I tried to find
A cat had seen one outside the apartment building.
grabbed it and scratched but when I hit the pus
over the head with a stone until it lies still in my hands.
Next morning I fed it and gave it water the tabby had
left a pile on my Persian rug, while cleaning the mess
The feline sent an email to the protection of animals
and signed it with a paw, this incensed me so much
I threw the cat out.
A knock on my door it was the cat people about an email
I have no cat; they sniffed around not convinced, left.
In the evening a scratching on my door I knew it was
the bloody moggy, people knock on doors, opened it
slightly told it to off, you said on me!
The cat said it was hungry and had nowhere to sleep,
but shut the door in its face I heard it take the lift down.
Next day I found the cat sleeping in a card box in
the garage I reversed the car to scare it, but it ran out
spat: “I will report you, you heartless brute.”

About a Cat

ABOUT A CAT

They found you at the bus stop in the bin.
scraggy mog with unmatched staring eyes.
The soaking fur made bones show through your skin.
How could we all resist your plaintive cries.

We brought you home and loved you from that day
A tortoiseshell with absurd velvet ears.
Remember how we taught you how to play
And climb the trees to allay all your fears

For eighteen years you clung to every heart.
Our feline friend from destination 'bin'
We sorrowed when your time came to depart
And watched as moggy heaven let you in
Sleep well my friend beneath your favourite tree.
There's a hole in our hearts where you should be.

I,S,A,M

I Saw A Mouse.

There's a mouse in the corner by the bathroom door.
I'm sure it's the same one I saw the night before.
With his cute pink round ears and his whiskers askew
we'll nab him and catch him before our cat see's him to.

We'll find him a new home somewhere outdoors
and keep him safe from our moggies claws.
I know there's a hollow in our big old oak tree.
We shall make him a nest so it's safe he shall be.

For if our moggy sees him he will kill him no doubt.
He will chase him until that poor mouse heart gives out.
So yes, come it's up to you and me
to make him a nest in our big old oak tree.

Death In the Forenoon

Death In The afternoon

The field mouse
 So dolce
Sleeping in
A blue flower
The woman who took
This adorable picture
Also had a
 Moggy
On the sofa it poured
And the lady will
 Never know
What the cat did to
The mouse
As there are things
 Cats do not care
Divulge
To us sensitive humans

Assembly

A mere whisper of a mortal is a card on a tree. Unopened. Oh what godly prowess is occurring at this time. At this the thistle of time where Theremins and terrapins catch thermometers in spins. Justification is rife. Short day is not a short night and a large whale in a pram or a cot cannot join large amounts of watered down conversation. Move not a mingling mangy moggy into a sack of potatoes as fish is the prefered diet for many of a meow meow. And next the time for the bouncy sun to call upon the planets laden with dinner trays. And all this whilst the giggling goo goo berries are in line formation. Monetary mingling making messy musical mirages. And pus. Yes pus. Oyster. Mr Oliver Oyster does not appreciate such dreadful catatonic category codes. So don't wash dishes in a four foot ball gown. Rapid is the eye that moves thrice. And circles a planetarium. Good isn't it?. Clever isn't it. Very structured isn't it? But when a ring donut carries a pixie on a hot day to a castle it is said there is much whistling. And a bird laughing in a tree. Dance. Good. Goodnight equals good afternoon and also good morning as an aura salutes an aura. Reconfiguration Z

Cloudy Dreams

Clouds on Dreams
To believe what we see is often a fallacy on a video
a rat attacked a cat; the moggy scared ran away but was it so
I think not video and pictures can be doctored so we are
left with a sceptical mind
Yet in the Sahara, I saw in the sky a ship sailing upside down
I know what I saw yet it was a mirage so therefore I can
talk about it without being made fun of like the day I saw
a flying elephant it was slow and met a crocodile
that loved me, of course, it was a mirage
That is why I`m fearless telling you this; you will think mirages,
was whisky involved?
There mere suggestion will send me into a rage and I will
never speak to you again.
The cat ashamed, turned around and killed the rat, just in case
you were curious. In the world, the strongest win just looks to Brazil
and what the heck was I doing in the Sahara?

Whose Laughing Meow

I went skipping down the street
using a pussycat
One hand near his teeth
the other down his back.

I spun him round and round
while all the people wail
Put that poor ole cat down
Or at least hold him by the tail.

What the people thought of me
I really didn't care
That's the last time that moggy
gave me an evil stare.

He bullied me daily, with language that's coarse
He said i walk gayly, I woke necks to a horse
He'd often trail me, and shag my tortoise
Words used to fail me, but now no remorse.

He'd get the cheese out of the traps for the mice
I caught him doing it twice
I warned him don't make it thrice
But he's like a gambler throwing his dice,
  Ahhh, bless his little cries.....

As i grabbed him near the teeth
Nearly put my finger in his pass
He almost did a sheet
As his belly grazed the grass.

I spun him round and round
while jumping over him
Mum would be proud
It's like going to the gym.

Like a car, I rode him for an hour
I flung him real far, he landed in some flowers
He looked like a furry shooting star, and it's he now who does cower
Perhaps i don't have a heart, but I do need a shower!
