Comical how the squirrels are frolicking
In the leaves that have covered the ground
At least a dozen of them merrily rollicking
Nipping and chasing each other all around
Their eager playfulness is so astonishing.

Your health you’ll keep
Don’t lie awake and worry

For that’s interest paid
On a debt not made
Which robs you of your merry

Mesmerized Minions Merrily Mention Making Millions

Morey Mouse made merry,
Mollifying Mallory’s Mama,
Maybe mixing mammoth metaphors

Marvelously mystical, Marmaduke mimed
mingling, meshing, ‘mogrifying magical mites,
Measuring muskrats minding miniature minnows

Meddlesome merrymakers, Mr. Mumbsly mentioned, miffed.
Mesmerized minions made millions, merely making mincemeat.
Mediocre maybe, magnificent Mrs. Mumps meticulously mentioned.

A Night To Remember

The night was dark yet cheerful
With a trip down the memory lane
Memories so gloomy yet blissful
Embracing the subdued heart's pain


It began as an effort for relief
And our tears started to flow 
As we spoke our heart's grief
A bond transpire like winter snow


It was a night that altered the past
Into something that felt so pure

lined up tall to small —
tailored suit on middle child.
Brady Bunch dress on sisters.
the Hammond organ,
put together by our dad —
the masterpiece behind us.

my mind’s eye opens
the bench, practice chart on keys,
wiggle of toes and fingers.
i flip old pages
with eyes closed. I see the song:

we’re only self-taught.

Not So Merrily

NOT SO MERRILY

in evening light, the tree not so merrily —
its shades shut tight, in revelry, lids beating

the coal cache — the portly man, delivering
tongues grab and stow curses repeatedly

astride of hohoho — his sleigh weighty
held back by slick-haired elves stampeding

faux-fur falls suffocating — snowfall heaving
calving forth a cacophonous sleet-piercing scream

Merrily streaming good movies along, 
HD, SD and sometimes black and white,
barring sweetheart films with syrupy song,
only far away adventure excites,

Its a revolving door
Its a Spirit turning into a Christmas store
We aren't satisfied, we aren't longing to stay long
