I stopped looking for love and attention 
When I die the same People that abandoned  and neglected my presence will mourn the hardest
They’ll say we had the best bond ever. 
Brothers, mothers, lovers… same people that would hang up in my face while I’m here.

   the fog that makes you tipsy,
      the dizzy feeling of falling…

there are stars of the past,
   the fallen angels -
      we don’t call them angels.

no longer the cherubs.
   stars of clarity -
      amazing.

ebon sky fills the mind.
   wisdom of the ages,
      I find.

those sparkling creations -
   clarifying, cleansing 
      diamonds glitch.

the ring,
   no longer petrified,
      but razzle dazzling.

of what I speak of:
   the time you held my hand
      and we tarried

under the tent
   of darkness and light,
      targeted

our future -
   it was the brightest white.
      a bazillion stars

filled the horizon
   aliens landed…
      I imagined.

Many will see him as being another schnook,
perhaps questioning if he’s ever had a real job.
But in my mind I see an unpunished crook,
someone with possible connections to the mob.

Each day his cognizance needs clarifying,
but in his world he’s convinced he’s grooving.
He hesitates saying “if I’m lying I’m dying,”
because he typically is if his lips are moving.

Peer Teaching

Our teacher says, “By peer teaching you can learn,
You can share your thoughts lovingly through cooperation”
But there’s always a big problem with my peer partner, Fern 
She's quite clumsy! Keeps dropping her stuffs when it’s my turn.

She crawls on the floor to get things, taking time to get up,
Her attention is so shallow, my patience is no longer enough;
Just enjoy crawling on the floor my friend, I won’t let you stop,
Anyways, you’re the best student in this class… always at the top.

I’ll just lay down cozily my head on our old school desk,
Thanks for sharing your bright ideas, clarifying things and all the rest;
I fervently hope you won’t hurt your knees, back and neck,
And nobody will find you crawling on the floor especially Mrs. Leclercq.

The Virus 2020

Twenty-twenty was a year of mere existence,
things we loved doing was met with resistance.

Life as we’d known it had came to a stop,
and you can’t, you must, came from the top.

Each day some new narrative needed clarifying,
It was a time of uncertainty, countless dying. 

Professionals searched daily to shorten its stay,
and political shortcomings were causing a fray.

Numerous Jobs were lost as businesses went under,
and anxiety and depression as torn many asunder.

Schools went virtual and many bills went unpaid,
some visualize no future as thoughts are weighed.

This past year’s path was speed bumps and pot holes,
hatred, not God’s love, was possessing men’s souls.

We faced problems daily without formal resolution,
Lord, help us each day, to be a part of the solution.
