Premium Member Colours of Autumn

Red, yellow, brown and green
All colours will be seen
Love this time of year ~ fill your cup
Hot chocolate, hats , scarfs gloves cosy up
Log fires lite in gardens brings dazzled light
As days get shorter ~ blazing sight
Kicking leaves, roasting chestnuts magic in the air

Premium Member Chocolate Caramels

Caramels coated in chocolate a candy must
taste buds so happy they flavor bust
the sweetness and chewy and chocolate too
whoever thought of it knew exactly what to do
I like Rolos in foil of gold
the caramel soft the chocolate bold
together a team that wins the candy race
try one than end up stuffing your face
Milk Dudes an old standard but chew is long
the caramel pulls out your fillings as chew on and on
the flavor is great is your mouth but to burst
handful of Milk Dudes chewing let them do their worst
Junior Caramels little balls of chocolate covered caramels
so soft and tender the chew is unreal
great is the flavor it is hard to beat
like em all you can't stop eating eat eat eat.

Premium Member close encounters

The stars are out and they’re worth considering,
with their glimmering, glittering, shimmering,
like fireworks flickering but more regularly appearing
in the black hole sky.

In Europe there are Ukrainians, Albanians, Scandinavians,
Romanians, Lithuanians and maybe a couple of Canadians,
but out there, in the dark black void-of-space, there are Aliens.

Ok, well, statistically, there are bound to be aliens.
your author has no first-hand knowledge of extraterrestrials

I have galactic questions though—you better believe it. For instance:
If light is the fastest thing in the universe,
why is darkness already there when light arrives?

  Could dark-matter be chocolate? and
How can we roll our clocks back if time only moves forward?

This is when having a physicist for a boyfriend is handy
—as well as those times you need a ‘close encounter.’ wink.wink

Premium Member If Sleep Was Like A Box Of Chocolates

If sleep was like a box of chocolates
Each choc representing time,
We'd all likely dive for the one
Offering several hours - nine!

If we sneak one during the day
It would be a cat nap.
There are others that give intimitancy
Where dreams will overlap.

It seems that most nights the same is picked
That only provides two to four
Hours of sleep in total.
If I take two, will I get more?

Some can be quite sour
Bringing nightmares, pain or angst.
Others are sweet prompting pleasant dreams,
Even waking, you can feel your heart dance.

Then there are umami ones
With detailed vivid dreams
Not scary, not sweet, but very real
And you find significant seams.

There are occasions where, quite by accident,
Your own exhaustion makes the choice.
One is selected where there's no disturbance,
No dreams, no bladders voice!

This rare sort refreshes the most
And you feel the utter bliss
Of a good night's rest, you're raring to go
Thinking, "I could do with more of this!"

If sleep was like a box of chocolates
And you could actually choose,
Which one do you think you would pick?
I'll give you time to muse.

Premium Member COOKIE COMFORT

It’s a harmless delight, this cookie-in-bed affair~
a midnight nibble you pretend isn’t there.
Crumbs make confetti
for dreams that stay steady,
and the guilt is as sweet
as chocolate, if you dare!

Jackals howl

long summer rain
drops and sunlight marry
jackals howl

Premium Member Evie G 1000 watt smile the cutest

Written 27th June 2026 for Miranda Hawley contest " Thousand Watt Smile "

Evie you blessed my life everyday I worked
It was a joy and honour to be your support worker
You didn't have sight to see
Non- verbal too but wow, that smile

You lite up every room, love oozed from smiles
Boy ~ did you love chocolate, your delight
Still hear you giggle when I showered you
You'd slap your belly, chocolate, apple pie !

Music every genre, your smiles increased
You'd dance in your chair to the beat
How I loved describing clouds, stars, nature
I knew even though never seen, you understood me.

chocolate, apple pie only 2 words she spoke

Premium Member Sister Whisperer

Do you have ice cream chocolates and a boat
Are you male female or do you identify as both
Is your sense of humor a surprise to die for
Are you easy on the eyes, a gift from the lord

Are you a great cook but never require her to
With just one look can you put her in the mood
Do you have lots of charm and a way with words
Can you cuddle with arms singing sweet as bird

Can you be available even during the big game
Finding her incredible telling her never change
And as she ages you view her as a masterpiece
Chanting her praises making true love so deep

You may have a big bank account maybe
But it’s your your generosity, you’re not lazy
That’s worth your soul in gold why she’s your lady
Thoughtful too she chooses you so elevating

All the things you bring she gives back to you
Like a perfect dream she sticks by side as glue
One kiss has sealed this promise of love for two
Every prayer answered by light of sun and moon

You’re happy to know match made in heaven real
Your characters both attract whisperer with feels

Rumble Stein's: The Midnight Baker's Warning

Rumple Stein has a terrifying
midnight warning for children
who look for a late- night snack.

Deep within the woods
where the old shadows grow,
Rumple Stein whispers a secret
you must know.
"Never sneak a cookie when
the midnight bell tolls,
For that is the hour when the
beast truly strolls."
His voice is like gravel, his
eyes gleam with spite,
Warning little children of the
terrors in the night.
"The Cookie Monster waits in
the dark, cold and grim,
If you steal a treat, you will
surely meet him."
A shadow will stretch out
across the kitchen floor,
As a blue furry claw softly
pushes the door.
He won't want a wafer, a chip,
or a chew,
Instead, the fierce beast will
come hunting for you!
Your bones will be crumbled
like a dry chocolate chip,
As he catches your sleeve in
his terrible grip.
With a terrifying growl from his
bottomless cup,
The hungry blue gobbler will
swallow you up!
So lock up the cookie jar when the
clock strikes the hour,
Before you are trapped in the
monster's grim power.
No crumbs will remain where
you stood on the floor,
And the kitchen will stay silent
forevermore.

Mischievous Morsel

Tasty confection,
Chocolate, caramel, nuts,
Delectable reflection,
Love those tasty guts.

It must Snicker,
While my taste buds flicker.

For a slice of cake

Wicked chocolate slab
Marking a milestone
A table for two indoors
Missing the threesome

Not there, three decades
To jubilate from afar
Toasting another year
Wishing her more power

Torn apart so long
Strangers in the dark
Genes beat reality
Ties that knit tightly

The golden child
Mirroring the original
On top of the world
For a slice of cake

Premium Member Chocolate

Chocolate addict
Dark or milk will quite suffice
Craving of cravings!

A gift of goodwill dragged too far

In goodwill frame sans garnished aim,
A gift with a portmanteau name,
And given to a friend,
Motive nor any end,
Plane, polite gallantry, no game.
But world, wrapped in motive--
Subjective and dative,
Cause following effect
And fiction feigning fact,
Finds a fawn fawning in front of a dame.

Note: A goodwill gift given by PM Modi on visit to his counterpart of Italy—no more no less but becoming a hot subject of the chatter circuit of social media. This ditty cries out of this excess and still ends up with an excess of alliteration of its own in the end.
