Something Sweet

I want something sweet
Pestered by my brain
It’s like a recurring tweet
I am trying to refrain

Something sticky like toffee
A gooey dessert of delight
To eat with a cup of coffee
Resisting with all my might

A chocolate bar or wafer
To ease my craving buds
Apple would be much safer
But it tastes like fairy suds

I am waiting for 4 o’clock
The Sunday shops stop calling
My will as solid as a rock
My glucose level’s falling

The pride of not succumbing
A passing of this test
I should be very happy yet,
My brain’s becoming a pest.

Baklave punished the people of
Thermopolium. The taught
the flavors of desire and decodance
When Apicius created a dessert for
the men of Anceintious. One man wished to
be loved and sorted the farro in fields
and dairy's in barns. In search
of sweetness gathered honeys. o He told the
men of these ancient places only a God
 could appreciate such decadence.
 He called on Apicius to
take farros for flour, The butters for fat ,
creamy cheese for richness:
to be encrusted with a sweet potatoes
and and to have a nuttiness of toasted pecans
mixed with farro flour butter eggs vanilla
and theobroma casas. To be baked in Zeus's oven
And when done all shall proclaim me God in
the Highest.
Apicius fixed kaka, and the people of Anceintious ate it.
aAnd smiles turned into concern.
One spoke saying the women shall hate us. Men will tease us.
And a world of long suffering
shall spite at us. Baklava spoke from the vinyard saying
curses he that labored.
Curses he that has chored. And the recipe disappear forever
Baklava
used his powers to hide it side a tree on amountain.
in 1903 a Fruit picker near a Silver mine
found the parchment and translated it.

Premium MemberThe Island of Thrown Away Holiday Candy

Past the salad fields of green,
With ciders flowing in between,
An island sits though out a-ways,
Of candy from the holidays.

They’re thrown away and tossed aside,
Without a bite or even tried,
So past the days of fresher primes,
They cry about forgotten times.

The candy corn all in a heap,
Continue on to slowly weep,
Passed over for a candy bar,
To sit untouched inside a jar.

And next to them, the tootsie rolls,
Were pushed aside in candy bowls,
They sob next to the candy canes,
Who watched alone the Christmas trains.

Just look who’s sitting by the docks,
A full but lonely chocolate box,
Who never shared dessert with wine,
Or eaten by a Valentine.

The hollowed bunnies hop around,
The jelly beans upon the ground,
But stuck among a larger mass,
Of artificial Easter grass.

They weep and think about the day,
And time that they were thrown away,
As now it’s here they sadly roam,
Their misfit candy island home.

A Conversation With the Gingerbread House Witch

“Thank you so much for your time today,
I hope this article can at least try to allay
some of the vitriol and online hate you’ve received
when, let’s face it, you’re the one who was deceived.
I must say you do have a gorgeous house. So inviting.
I can certainly see why children find it exciting.
Can I ask if the walls are held together with sticky toffee?
Is the garden soil really ice-cream flavoured coffee?
I told my editor I didn’t need Google Maps to find this place…
believe me, the sweet scent of bubble-gum was easy to trace!
But unlike those two rude little thugs, I didn’t steal and I didn't eat
one sugared door handle, nor the chocolate post-box out on the street.
I’m here to get your side of the story, to get on the record your words,
so that Mr Hansel and Ms Gretel can finally get their just desserts.”

“That’s ever so kind. I relish the chance to speak to someone new.
Please, take some liquorice tasting pebbles from outside to suck on or chew.
It’s the least I can give because your treat is now a trick, too:
like the others, you saw my gingerbread house but didn’t smell the oven, did you?”

Premium MemberChocolate Covered Roaches Yum Yum

I ate roaches for breakfast. Chocolate covered.
He studies my eyes, hoping for a reaction, or a bit of squeamishness.
I say yum yum and lick my lips.
They were not quite cooked, he informs me.
They kept running away from the plate.
The two with their legs out.
I smile and nod encouragingly.
Sounds great! I say.
I washed them down with ketchup milk, he says.
YUMMY! I yelp emphatically.
His story is coming a bit more slowly now.
I ate stuffed spiders for dessert. They were tasty!
They sound delicious, I allow.
But how did you get their mouths open to stuff them?
I did not stuff them THERE, he says, hoping my eyes will widen.
I cannot stop laughing and neither can he.

Stress Diet

STRESS DIET

I've found a stress free planned diet,
It sounds so good I shall try it
Chocolate is claimed for calming the mind,
Eaten daily less stress I should find.

Breakfast to be chocolate spread on bread
A chocolate milk shake to clear the head
Lunch-time I'll try to be chocolate free,
And will wait until afternoon tea.

Afternoon tea cannot come too soon,
No chocolate eaten lunch-time at noon
I've now withdrawal pains in my guts
I need some chocolate raisins and nuts

At night I'll have a healthy dinner,
steak and vegies will be a winner.
Then follow with a cheesecake dessert,
a chocolate one made by an expert.

This diet's had a calming effect
It's more than I could ever expect.
No sneaking around chocolate to find
I've found a cure for a stress free mind.

If you're in need to become stress free,
Follow this plan that worked for me.
Eat chocolate, never miss out a day
it's the best food; what more can I say.

Melted Chocolate

I took all forms,
Just to fit his molds,
I varied from bitter to sweet,
Depending on what he needs.

I coated him with comfort;
A sweet strawberry dessert,
He devoured in one bite,
With a gluttonous appetite.

When there was no more,
He turned on the stove,
He set me on fire,
With all his selfish desire.

Sweet chocolate drips,
From his succulent lips,
That filled him with bliss,
For just a few minutes.

Chocolate Day

Tasty
Yummy
Fluffy
Nutty
Stuff yourself with tasty and yummy
dessert that's so fluffy and nutty!

My Food

I want pizza,
from the pickles to olives,
I crave some food,
from pepperoni to cheese.

I want macaroni and cheese,
from elbow pasta to rigatoni,
I crave some food,
from cheddar cheese to parmesan cheese.

I want ice cream,
from chocolate to strawberry,
I crave some dessert,
from whipped cream to a cherry on top.

Premium MemberForgive Me

You leave little sprinkles
Of crystalized sugary words
Everywhere you go
Traces of sweetness
Meant to tantalize
Everyone the same portion
Of the rich desert of your soul
Little sugar sprinkles
Just a little lick…

Please forgive me
I don’t appreciate
Something that melts so fast
With no staying power
For my ravenous soul

Forgive me
For not fainting with delight
When you and I both know
That only the most decadent
Oozing chocolaty delight
Drizzled in rich caramel
Prepared with me in mind
Will satisfy my mind
And melt in my mouth…

Sweetness with staying power
To be savored bit by wicked bit
Delicious delectable dessert
Of your admiration and delight
Prepared with my taste in mind

Forgive me
If the little sprinkles
You've sweetly left behind
Don’t satiate my soul
Don’t tempt my demanding tongue

Save my share for others
For this woman only dines
On love’s full fantasy feast
With the dessert not meant to share
My very own chocolate ecstasy
Enjoyed ONLY by me

So forgive me…
Forgive me
If I pass
Your little tiny treat
Of sprinkled sugary words
Down there at my feet
