What a Pair

Jack handed Julie a box of chocolates and launched into a plea for forgiveness.

“I’m SO sorry about that other woman ---”

      “TWO women!”

“I’ve changed. I love you. I’ll never cheat again.”

“I forgive you, baby. Let’s have some wine with those chocolates.”

“Hmmm---this wine tastes funny.”

This one had me sniggering - we have all had revenge fantasies at one point or other in our relationships - or am I moving in the wrong circles? Congratulations, Janice, with your second-place win in my "For the story ..." contest. You were one of the few poets who read the full contest description: text and the visual prompt that lent its name to the contest..

Suzette, thanks a million for sponsoring and for my win. I am thrilled! My real-life fantasies have all stopped just short of doing away with the man. LOL! Janice
