The Empty Nest

With children
a house becomes alive
Without them
an empty shell
With children
new moments of joy arrive
Without them
an unringing bell

With children
laughter stays in the air
Without them
but memories dwell
With children
the years to age unimpaired
Without them
— all magic is quelled

Once upon a memory clear,
Came a vision from the past.
The woman that I once held dear,
Now consumed this vision cast.

Through tender moments once we shared,
To that moment we would part.
The memory of her unimpaired,
And still echoed in my heart.

Though fate would steal her love away,
I still chose to pay the cost.
And though she left I chose to stay,
To reflect on what I lost.

Now in the quiet of the night,
All alone I pull the shades.
I'll toss and turn till morning light,
But the memory never fades.

Ode To Broker

I grope gossips
and chamois if chargrin
and sense like there is forlorn
and there is gruff and chide
oh! if love be a centre
of human life and existence
why call for cracks and grudges?
why profane like a night waves?
can it behold to make excuses?
to haunt and hallow ever?
what contagion is a nightmare contempt?
what conspiracy and blue contest?
what went wrong last blue?
or could it be a factor of woe or foe?
or still it be contemporary air to so rely?
to seize and hold , ay! to damage?
oh! Broker tell me when love
has tis become flame?
that thou is blind to reason
at least to answer imagination
suppose there is a trick
like there is a supposition
suppose there is false
and implication to act
now, tell me the leaving
the unimpaired or the unsuspected for get
thanks be to process of law
for it could never allow
      supposed
so is a problem of a
  poised.

Dancing to the rhythm of the music of the heart,
heat rises as our embrace tightens.
Eyes lock telling each other the depth
of passion this moment brings.

Swaying gently to the music only we can hear,
cheeks softly brush starting a blaze.
Lips meet, souls erupt sending shivers
running through one body to the next.

Hands begin to drift, caressing flesh,
as tongues touch for the first moment
feeling the heat of desires rise.
A sweet demand that fills the soul.

Kisses drift down the neck
and whispers of our appetites’ bloom.
Sparks ignite infernos all around us,
the rhythm of the music cannot be denied.

Passions detonate, desires explode;
in fluid motion we become one,
embracing our fullest potential
from vibrations of unimpaired perfection.

The dance of love is a mystic power
allowing passions to finally be released.
A union of two hearts entwined into one soul
for a brief moment that lasts a lifetime.

The Fig Leaf Removed

There I am, laid bare on a slab of steel
undone by my Achilles' heel,
A Mayan priest's obsidian blade,
or a sultry siren's silent serenade

There I am, placenta draped and screaming
Awoken from my embryonic dreaming
Beckoned forth to join the woeful parade
And make a cameo for a few accolades

There I am, full of zeal and glee
Despite all my idiosyncrasies
Overly amorous and under prepared
But going ahead unimpaired

There I am, washed of my daily grime
resetting all the usual paradigms
Readying myself for the Sisyphean chore
of another day I can not ignore

Peering In the Windows

Peering in the windows,
Of those lives I barely see,
Except when tokens are procured,
For rides, intermittently,
They look at me, I look back,
Nothing severed or taken,
My pith, unimpaired,
And by them, unmistaken,
Do they think that my life,
Should be transformed to theirs,
With foreign exclusions,
And tainted, quaint stares,
Their subtle indifference,
No case dares to appeal,
Embodies the essence,
Of a world they call real,
So they ask with green eyes,
Should I now switch with you,
Would that make my self-worth,
Somehow, progressively true,
I glance, to respond,
That neither is needed,
Because as tolerance failed,
Manipulation succeeded,
We both yearn to validate,
Our courses of being,
Amidst choices of learning,
And preferred ways of seeing,
For now, the windows are closed,
The Santa Anas, they're blowing,
And those lives which premiered,
Have no interest in showing,
We will then pause to wonder,
If the sill might be locked,
Therefore sealed from exposure,
And no chance to be mocked.

For Claire

Your beauty beams with patent rage
Undiminished and unharmed with age
Like the primrose of the spring
You are the jewel that sunshine brings

Your kindness is without compare
Unprejudiced and unimpaired
Like the music of a hymn
You are the song that angels sing

Your joy inspires the world to smile
And makes the trials of day worthwhile
Like the rain upon the leaves
You are the water all life needs

Your compassion is unlimited
The purest and most noble gift
Like heroes in the books I read
You are the person I want to be

Soonn Un

Emirabitur- Shall Admire

There you are the wind of my lone chamber
When I set to keep all mine from ember
And drop where constructs are most eminent,
Where meditativeness is prominent.
Long lost be me, if not for lunar moon
Descend light that fights random hours of groan.
I will for sure unveil silence abode
Where monstrous would have forsaken off-board.
Let’s believe I have found and learnt the muse
The muse which unimpaired and un-abuse;
And fetch, outstretch, inform and un-slumber,
That which eyes will see and bless good comment:
Less of déjà vu and more of neo-pan,
That the rooftops will sit and grant accord.

Loosing a Friend

Where oh,
Friend is thy true face,
The one i used to know,
The one that used to laugh with me,
That helped me learn to grow,
Why now have we turned away from all those things we shared?
Can time not leave a simple memory or moment unimpaired?

I always tried to reach out and give you the best part of me,
Now it seems iv'e failed as you turn away from me and flee.
What did i do?
How can i make it right,
This apparent thing,
Which caused you to throw our closeness away and to sorrow bring.

I am me,
That's all i am,
I can't be anything more,
You liked me this way once,
Remember that?
Before you leave and shut my door.
And if you go,
I'll cry for you and and all you've thrown away,
But through the pain i'll always wish we could go back to yesterday.

The Building of a Moment

narrative

Precious novelties, rare and unimpaired
reminder of events I'd love to share.
Recalling special trinkets in a hutch
for display only, labeled "Do Not Touch".

Awaiting finding of a misplaced key,
a new piece tempted curiosity.
Too precious to ignore, my small grandson
maneuvered carefully, warned by his mum.

Rejecting caution, which kids oft ignore
forgetful child just left it on the floor.
The next day, sister found it with her foot.
One piece, now three pieces, ruined, kaput.

Comes precious moment, happ'ning on my watch.
The brother faults his sister for the botch
who then returns accusatory blame.
Routine occurrence, 'companied by shame.

The moment builds, we search the house for glue.
Some chips still gone? Hurrah! we find a few.
Together, we three, talking as we work,
accountable, not acting like a jerk.

A precious moment in our history
when that collectible met surgery.
Four years later, standing tall, gath'ring dust
a priceless symbol, joint endeavor, plus.

This Life

I will whisper excuses in my own ear,
Behind my back to the shadows of regret...
And recollections in their kindest form
Cannot soothe the tears
Of a heart torn asunder.

I never wished you gone,
Nor unencumbered by my embrace;
In an afternoon of Summer softness
And Summer scents
Held together by a future unimpaired --
How was I to know...

In the certainty of youth and beauty,
All those whispers told a tale of sacriifice
Surrounding a gentle wanton uninstructed
In the vagueries of lies.

I only wanted to be free...
I only wanted to understand
Meaning in the word glorious.
It was never meant to be,
Even though vivid memories are treasured
Of other lives preordained...

I have no knowlege of importance...
So remember, in the centuries long past,
And those yet to come...
The reasons for loneliness;
The reasons for life.

I must, in any case,
Simply whisper excuses for this one
However long it seems to last...
Simply whisper ...

The Ugly Pebble

Gazing upon the long and winding path of life
One may find an ugly pebble that causes strife
Jagged and mossy, the rock seems out of place
One has to fight the urge to move it from its space
But when looking at the path from a wider stance
One can see it has been placed there by simple chance
For the ugly pebble can do nothing but be compared
To the hundreds of thousands beside it unimpaired

(dedicated to the one "ugly pebble" in my life who is not only insignificant but also, as of
today, impotent)

Live Laugh Love (Caressed By Moonlight)

Listening to your heartbeat
I lie with my head on your chest
Voile curtains softly billowing in the breeze from the open window
Ecstasy still flowing through our veins

Lately we have become much closer
A true friendship now mingles with physical attraction
Unimpaired by our past lives
Gently, you curl your arm around me as you sleep
How truly happy that makes me feel

Light from a waxing moon creeps in
Over your sleeping form
Verifying my adoration of you
Even now, I can’t believe how lucky I am to have a life so full of love and laughter.

Toll

it really wasn't quite fair
the profit that came to you
at the cost of my redemption
the recompense I paid

just like a Midwest highway
the tolls they bleed for use
the value of what is measured
set by others at my expense

you pocket the small stipend
my love, my heart, my soul
moving on to the new quarry
an unsuspecting host

never looking over your shoulder
there's nothing that holds you back
a conscience not left muddled
your scruples still unimpaired
